Bookmarked for later reading. I love stories like this. There are a bunch of stories like this in California, where rich people try to create private beaches by a combination of monopolizing access roads and outright bullying. Whenever it's in the news it's because the rich guys are losing. But this one sounds more cloak-and-dagger.

No cloak-and-dagger stuff. But a really good expose on the rich successfully usurping public property for their own exclusive use, at least until now.
