My horse was wandering in the Ozark wilderness last weekend and got a bad case of poison ivy. The rash did not subside with standard OTC treatment options including cortizone and Ivarest. The mare refused to go to Urgent Care as she does not do well with corticosteroids and she did not feel like paying the copay. After several days of increased blistering and crabbiness, I urged her yesterday to self-medicate with Bimectin 1.87%, which she had forgotten was in her medicine cabinet. Because she had good experience with Ivermectin for other odd ailments, she figured she would give the paste a chance as an ointment. Within an hour of applying the flowery-scented paste, the horse noticed that the rash had begun to reverse and that the blisters were no longer bubbling. It appeared that all sites of poison ivy were in the stages of healing and before retiring to her stall for the night, she applied another layer of paste. She awoke this morning to find her wounds scabbed-over, all of the new blisters she had yesterday morning were no longer bumps, but tiny fading spots -- even the itching was gone. She was so happy she had an extra cup of coffee and made an egg sandwich. Needless to say, my horse was pleasantly surprised to find an unconventional use for Bimectin 1.87%. That is all.
My horse learned of an alternative use for Ivermectin (Bimectin paste - 1.87%). Posting in case your horse doesn't know about this unconventional treatment for a common issue...
๐ Mmmm! Apples! ๐
My horse got shingles, the same stuff rubbed on the area reduced it to 5 blisters on a small spot and only a week of nerve pain. She was very pleased with her treatment as she is already has an autoimmune disorder which should have made the shingles worse.
I am glad to learn that your horse successfully treated shingles with the paste. She thanks you and added this to her ever-growing homeopathic repertoire.
I would love to see a full homeopathic repertoire thread on Great Awakening for everything!
Wonder if that stuff you're using on your horses might also work on human ailments... you know, since we're also mammals & all?
2015 Nobel Prize in medicine- for humans- was this stuff. Which had been used on thousands and tenyd of thousands of tropical jungle residents suffering from River Blindness, eradicating the blindness caused by parasites, without major side effects.
Some mountain woman taught me to lick an aspirin and tape it to my warts. Works like a champ, at least for me.
Salicylic acid.
Same stuff you buy in the store.
Great info. Thank you for sharing. I know another horse who has high BP and Hypothyroidism. Curious to know if it would also help that in-tamdem? May just tell her about it and she can experiment.
Does this horse take iodine?
Nattokinase has been scientifically proven to lower blood pressure. In fact, it is warned not to take it when you're on statins because it lowers BP.
But they want you to stay on the synthetic stains, which have side effects that require further medication, rather than the natural fermented extract.
I would not recommend this horse stop her meds until she researches it completely. She probably wouldn't be able to go off her thyroid meds, but hoping Ivermectin can help with BP. Was just curious if anyone had heard of it for thyroid issues. I'll be looking into it for sure.
She should be taking nascent iodine for thyroid issues. I put two drops in my bottled water daily, along with trace minerals.
Thank you! i will share this info
Where do you get your trace minerals?
Thanks for the info. Taken ivm a handful of times myself. The 2 times I took it when I was getting sick I was better within 24 hours while my family was all sick for 3-7 days.
how long did it take to get rid of the warts? Also how often did you apply it? I've had some on my had for at least a decade and figure I may as well give it a shot.
I just tried to look this up and didnโt get anything. Is there a specific website for Reynoldsmeds? TY!
Reynoldmeds.com Incredible customer service.
Thank you!
Top notch
Says they have only been on the web since May 2022! What makes them have incredible customer service?
Chill and search here for recommendations for Reynolds, lots of personal testimony and history.
Good lord theyโre expensive on that site. Iโll stick with the horse paste.
Thank you!
Thank you!
Seriously?! This site has only been active since May 2022!!!
This old gray mare took a dose of 18mg tablets as soon as the shingle outbreak started: gone by the next morning, completely. This has been a chronic condition for 25 years and no 'healthcare professional' ever made it go away. So, neigh more doctors in this stable.
Now that my mare know that burn, I will make sure I got her back.
I smeared some over the front door of several libtards I know...waiting on the angel now...will update
you just made my day LOL
Thank you for posting this! I live out in the country and occasionally encounter poison ivy, and now I know what to do if I have an outbreak.
Like your horse, I'm not inclined to engage with our broken medical system and am always on the prowl for home remedies.
Cured my mom's GERD after 20 years.
Maybe she had h pylori and it killed it?
ehrmagerd
How often did she take? My wife suffers from same.
Half a dose (click), every 3 - 4 days.
Thanks ๐๐ผ Does she continually do that every 3-4 days, all the time? Or did she just do that until gone and it didnโt return?
Yes. Took until it stopped returning.
Locally. It is a little greasy, but not sticky. https://www.chewy.com/bimeda-bimectin-paste-187-horse/dp/269177?gclid=Cj0KCQjw0oyYBhDGARIsAMZEuMvCv_a-tyYBseYsNXXLrVuT9PJvObemeOxzPK4ttC36-3QtHJQL7sAaAmsiEALw_wcB
Sorry - I just realized this question wasn't directed to my horse.
I followed your link, but the website says "Out Of Stock."
Yes, apparently popular. Was posting more so for a pic of the product. I actually found my horse paste on Amazon.
Tractor supply Carrieโs it too
Try here: https://petsupplygallery.com/pet-store-supplies/bimeda-bimectin-paste-1-87-horse-supplement-0-21-oz-tube/
that link goes to a blank page....?
You're misspelling it.
It's Reynold, not Reynolds.
It took me a long time to find it. Bing wasn't helpful.
I used Freespoke, and it helped correct the misspelling.
Then I read further in the thread and others put it correctly.
Oh well.
Anyway, thanks for promoting them.
nope. pc here. just nothing really on that page of any worth/value.

What no one's mentioning is that this stuff isn't cheap. $90 for 100 12 mg tablets.
This is great to hear! How often and at what dosage did you take the pills for this?
How long did it take for toe nail fungus and how often applied? Seems like everything that works takes two to three applications a day for like 6 months.
One of the best things about the ivermectin madness still is these random posts where we refer to our fellow humans as horses ๐
Wash with regular soap and water after possible exposure gets the oil off,and prevents problems.
Posted for those who don't know.
Yup, scrub with a wash cloth as if you were washing off sap or tar.
Urushiol is the clear oil that causes problems when you contact poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac. Wash it off within 4 hours and you won't have a problem.
I haven't seen Fels Naphta in years! Where do you buy it? Thanks.
I found mine in a regular grocery store in the laundry section.
Thanks. I have not been able to find it. I suppose amazon would have it.
gobby, I just looked and Amazon has a product we used to use back when I was working for the phone company in Nashville. It's called "tecnu".
https://www.amazon.com/ (search for 'tecnu')
Now, I haven't needed it for YEARS and I don't know if this is exactly the same stuff with which we used to wash - but it's the same name and the bottle looks similar so, good luck!
Make America not ITCH, again! LOL!
Hi AroomaNuminahh. Good to see you posting! And thanks for this info. I didn't even know such a thing existed, lol. Great info. Amazon has it on sale right now, too. Thanks.
You got to get the tecnu Xtreme. It has the little abrasion grains in it to help break the skin and remove the urushiol. Recently I just switched to using regular old borax though cause itโs much cheaper
Yeah, Iโve got this stuff in my truck.
Make sure to wipe it off with a rag after, not just rinse. Do an experiment with motor grease with soap/water with and without the rag. Poison ivy ks an oil, just like motor grease. Huge difference. Iโve also wondered if gojo would work.
Gojo is probably best,I use dish soap and a wash cloth and have no problems......
Iโve found that when I come in contact with it, mostly when Iโm metal detecting, that if I scrub with dawn within 2 1/2 to 3 hours after contact, that I wonโt get it. Regular soap is probably fine. I just use dawn for the grease cutting factor since it is an oil.
Maybe she had chiggers. Ivermectin is an anti inflammatory among other things, would work.
Chiggers? That's Rayciss!
Chiggers gonna chigg...
She knows the difference. She manages to get into a chigger swarm once a year. Her vet actually prescribe over cream years ago when it was hundreds of chigger bites. I guess that vet knows his stuff.
Routinely given for mites and scabies, so chiggers and ticks are close enough.
Chiggers gonna chig
choggers?
My horse is hyper sensitive to chiggers and ticks. So I guess the vet knows best
The horse also has chiggers and she found a couple seed ticks on her legs. They are not as flared up, but I will encourage her to use it on those as well.
Had a neighbor who had a horse with severe lifelong eczema. He began applying horse paste and it completely disappeared. Also fixed his horse's severe vericose veins, and eased arthritis pains (according to the horse). Crazy good stuff, he absolutely swears by it now ... almost like the father was with Windex in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".
I'm so excited I'm freaking out because my horse has stubborn eczema on top of her hooves, both front ones. Just applied some from a tube (one of several in reserve) and CANT WAIT to see the results!!!
How did it go?
Actually it made it react badly. But my skin is super sensitive. Was just hoping for the silver bullet.
Kek! Thatโs totally me!
How do you apply for varicose veins? Rub paste over skin where veins are located?
That's what he said he did. Honestly no idea why it would work for that but I was honestly shocked how much better he looked, they were bad. Not sure how often he applied though.
Hopefully the mare wont get pissed she was referred to as a horse... you might want to pick her up some get well ๐น๐น๐น๐น
Well, luckily the mare and I have a very close relationship. It's as if I can read her mind sometimes. ๐ด
OP, you are a week late with this story. I had a rash on some private parts that itched so bad... I used every cream I had in my stash to no avail. But the worst itching was on the palms of my hands. Had I known your horse reacted positivly to the paste being applied I would have tried it myself. Oh well, I will just keep this in mind for the next time this ailment occurs. Thanks for posting up.
I have an experiment going on in my stable RIGHT NOW... will report back
Neiiggghh
have you done this? The ivm didn't work for my eczema, my skin got very angry LOL
God I luv you guys
something, something, you'll go blind.
Rosy, is that you?
Can you please share how much you used and how often? Thank you
So funny and yeah, good to know!
I currently have a case of Chegroes. My legs are all bitten up from walking around in the woods this weekend.
I think I'll rub some of my horse paste on the blisters and see what transpires.
Thanks for the tip.
Im in the same boat. Ankles and legs are all bitten up. Going to try it tonite.
One day in and my chigger bites are greatly improved. Wife couldnt believe it when she saw it. Cant wait for tomorrow. At this rate they may be gone in a few days when before it took 1-2 months.
Awesome! Horse's poison ivy is just red healing patches now -- a miracle salve
My horse takes ivermectin once a month because of the promising anti-cancer prophylaxis properties.
This could honestly be life changing for my horse, with 13 acres and big poison oak patches, she avoids adventuring and vegetation management because of this. We will apply at first of set of any irritation and test it out! Brilliant
Glad to hear! I'm curious if the patch my horse ventured into was sumac and not ivy as she is typically not as affected as she was this past week. She needs to study poisonous botanicals a little more closely before heading into the dense woods.
Blisters yes, redness, irritation, oozing and inflammation, nope. This worked for me!
I will update you with my findings, as I have coincidentally discovered a developing patch within the last hour. Will treat and report back! In the PNW, so this assuredly is Poison Oak, but will be good to have this data to share
What was that rosacea cream called? Mine just flared up simply because I read the word rosacea ๐ณ Was it more helpful than something like โProsaceaโ?
Guess what rosacea has been linked to? Face mites.
https://www.dermatologytimes.com/view/parasites-and-inflammation-fuel-rosacea
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7649190/
Ivermectin kills then. I read somewhere people take the paste and mix with face lotion.
I know someone who has Rosacea, and the prescription cream is very expensive. I mentioned IVM horse paste could help, but was shot down as they didn't know, or believe Rosacea was some sort of mite.
NO WAY!! Iโm going to look into that, even though itโs disgusting LOL. We still canโt get Ivermectin in Canada but I might have some options in the near future. Thanks for the reply.
Youโll go down the rabbit holeโฆ tea tree oil helps if you canโt get ivermectin
Oh, thank you for that! I have tea tree oil and had never heard it would be helpful. How is it used? Mixed in lotion or something like that?
They have serums for tea tree oil. Iโm sure thereโs natural remedies that you could research and thereโs a ton of products. Also, azul makes a sulphur soap which is amazing and so cheap!
Thanks. Iโll look into all of that. Appreciate the info, fren.
I was just about to ask if this might help with rosacea!! Thank you!

did you saddle up the horse and take her for a nice long ride after she felt better?
Neiigghh..๐ my mare tends to type in the third person, or third horsey... if you will.
โShe was so happyโ so, apply bimectin to cure crabbiness. Got it. ๐
Something tells me you're not actually talking about your "horse," but actually talking about your ferret.
Thanks for this post. Both the content and the background narrative are inspiring. I'm left wondering what brand of coffee your horse prefers, but I can wait for the next adventure.
Mare-y enjoys Peet's Major Dickinson's blend and likes the regular old Costco Medium Roasts for those days she can't seem to pull herself up out of the hay.
Iver also knocked out a case of stomach flu within 2 hrs of taking it.
Upvoat #34 (2 ร 17)
Thanks for the info
I've forgotten ... do the pills work best on the horse with a meal or on an empty stomach?
I just watched a video on this, found it;
https://www.bitchute.com/video/HQE38gvbLu1V/
Heโs got a bunch of vids on ivermectin
I had a really bad rash of some sorts on my butt that went up the lower part of my back and even down my legs. It was very itchy and painful. Nothing seemed to work. I've been orally taking an Ivermectin solution( 10 drops) once a week that a friend gave me. Been taking it for about a year. It took awhile but it finally disappeared. I was taking it to avoid the crud. One day I noticed that it was healing. Yep I'm a believer
Read on here it gets rid of fever blisters. Gave it to my lib friend, gone overnight. Red pilled her. When I did the cleanse after reading so much on it, I felt so much better. Iโve read all kinds of things about how it may help mental issues. Two people I know anxiety and depression almost completely gone.
What - how much - how often did you take to cleanse?
Next time you allow your horse to run lose in poison ivy, bathe her with soapy water within 2 hours. Once infected once learned. When gardening, always shower within 2 hours. The sooner the better. Now, what was the saying Benjamin Franklin often used? Something about measurement using an ounce and a pound.
The thing is, this horse knows better. She took a dip in a nearby river afterwards, thinking it would suffice, but alas, the horse noticed the bumps two days later and was very mad at herself for not bringing soap along for the adventure.
Since poison ivy, poison oak, and sumac all contain the same type of oil that produces the itch and lesions, a soap or even GO-JO, or some other oil/grease remover must be used right away (within max 2 hours) to remove the oil from the skin. Touching the infected area only spreads the oil to other parts of the body.
In fact, this same oil from poison ivy/poison oak was used as the basis for developing weaponized gases in warfare. I don't recall if it was mustard gas or another. It just shows the sinister minds out there.
As preventative care next time, if exposed, poison ivy is like invisible used motor oil, scrape it off with a dry towel.
Thank you for the tip. My horse was careless and usually is very careful about these things. She will take better precautions next venture.
Hope it makes a full recovery.
Sure is a lot of horses getting rashes. Im glad to see this horse medicine works for these horses. Glad I stocked up on this stuff in case I ever get a horse. I'll be prepared!
The mare and the damn copay. We are sending a bill....lol
What a smart horse
So it is just ivermectin?
Go ask your horse.
Iโll wait.
