I've lived in both FLA and TX - Texas if you want space - FLA if you like beaches and CROWDS of snowbirds from Oct. until Apr. Fishing is way better in FLA, BBQ is better in TX. Cost of living? About the same, depending on location in each. I liked natives in FLA better but I'm partial because I was one. I'd like to move back to FLA when I fully retire but TX would be second or third on my list.
