Colonel Douglas MacGregor says exactly that. His expertise is well worth seeking out. He is on rumble but Judge Napolitano has him on his show as well as Jackson Hinkle on The Dive. MacGregor says that the old generals - not all - think that US in fighting wars of the 1998 type. They haven’t kept abreast and the Pentagon is shocked at what they are seeing coming out of Russia. He also states that China will never give up Taiwan because it is a buffer from an attacking naval force and the US would not stand a chance because of it. (The island). Add to this the woke agenda and the forced covid jabs and bleeding of experienced military personnel, the US in not in any position to fight 2 disciplined armies. It was all planned to bring the US to its knees and the globalists thought ‘the pearl’ would still be in their greedy grasp. They thought Russia would crumble, but the opposite has happened. The lies of the media is shocking in what they have said about Russia. There is nothing you or I can do now except pray. Pray and prepare your loved ones because there is no stopping this train wreck.
Oh 100%, if the US fought a real war, it would lose harder than Poland did in WW2.
Its just horribly unprepared.
The only saving grace the US has is China is even more incompetent, and Russia, well the only way the US would fight Russia in a conventional war is if the US went to Russia to fight the war. Which case it WILL lose because nobody in history, no matter their advantages, has ever beat Russians in Russia, and there was no shortage of people trying all throughout history.
But as far a military power goes...
Russia >>>>>>>>>>>>> USA > China (mostly from officer incompetence)
Why Russia ranked so highly? They haven't forgotten the basics of warfare: that artillery does 90% of the work, and the only thing better than artillery is more artillery shooting bigger guns. Combined that with a slow advance that never exposes their flanks or out paces their supply lines, and the Russian military doctrine is very, very hard to beat when they have artillery and armor to back them up.
And in case you doubt me on China, I saw recently a video of China showing off one of their special forces units and they were showing off their China-made special gun for the special forces... And then they panned over the targets, the bullets were all keyholding (aka tumbling sideways) inside of 5 yards. And remember this is their spec ops guns, the best for the best of the best of the best. now imagine the garbage their conscript infantry has.
Communist Mao China used SOVIET made guns, and everything else, and they still failed horribly. We'll see when China inevitably launches an aggressive war, what Chinese weapons kill more of, China's own soldiers, or its enemy.
And yes I am being absolutely brutal putting the USM only slightly ahead of China. US officers are largely highly competent, but US equipment also sucks, its mostly worn out, expensive, hard to maintain cold-war stuff, and the US military is currently built around the idea of fighting small bands of irregulars, not a huge force on force peer wars. The US isn't ready, the collapse of morale from the fallout of Covid, followed by a record number of personnel seeking discharges, has gutted its readiness.
“ I don’t think anons realize how bonkers American hegemony really is. The US military has power unlike anything mankind has ever known, and that’s just what is revealed to us plebs. The most advanced technologies are made here, by American companies. We have the equivalent firepower of the rest of humanity combined, and with all of the newest equipment in every field. The domination of US military, culture and technology will remain absolute for a looong time. The only way the US might fall is from within, but if we get a relatively sane man in, then we can start drilling the oil beneath our feet and it’s over, the economy is fixed and our Pax Americana will remain for generations, at the very least. I’m only scratching the surface of how powerful the US and it’s military is.
The real insanity is how powerful a united West is. NATO is absolutely unstoppable. We really lucked out with it. The only way this crumbles is from within, and it might, but if we successfully stomp out the liberal hive mind we will develop an immunity to it like a vaccine. Basically, if the US gets it’s shit together, if we fire all of the fifth columns and wake up the populace, society is going to enter into a golden age.
Just go do some research on how mighty the US military is. You don’t have to think hard on the soft power, it’s all around you, but I don’t think anons realize that the US military is truly at an insane level of competence.”
Doomer porn is fun, but the reality is that we are light years ahead of the Russians and the Chicoms. Its obvious.
Now, do we want to try invading either of them? Certainly not. But our recent experiences in Afghanistan aren't comparable because we were under VERY strict RoE. That would not be the case in a peer-to-peer conflict. It wouldn't be a cakewalk like Iraq of course.
Such a conflict won't occur unless Putin loses his mind and invades someone other than Ukraine, or if the Chicoms decide we are stretched too thin to defend Taiwan. And even then, that will mostly be Naval and Air, not Ground.

Yeah, I’ll just leave this here…:

Read the above post and the one before it. Which is correct? Can't be both.
