What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
I started a new job a couple weeks ago and it is a lot more standing and walking than my previous job. I love it. It’s going to be good for my body. I sat way too much. Already lost over ten lbs in my short time there.
My MAJOR issue is with my feet. About half way through the work day my feet start to really hurt. It gets worse and worse throughout the day. It is quite severe.
Can anyone recommend some over the counter replacement inserts for my shoes or maybe some tips for helping my troubled poor feet? Thank you very much.
Where is the most pain? You should go to a podiatrist and see what he says.
Sadly, there is a 60 day wait for benefits to kick in. Not sure why some companies do that.
The pain is the entire foot. Heals/sides/ankles. I was lying in bed last night and both feet felt like they were on fire.
If it seems clear that the foot pain is from standing all day, I would go for the compression socks, bring a spongy mat to stand on, and get orthotic shoes when you can afford them and wear comfy shoes until then. Look online for suggestions too.
I don't stand in one spot. I operate equipment and walk around getting materials and deliver product my machines produce to a finishing area. The floor is smooth concrete. The only floor padding is directly where the equipment is. The only chance I get to sit down is during break periods and a 30 min lunch. I do have shoes on order and am shopping for compression socks.
