Trains on tracks are safer than tons of giant trucks mixed into traffic and can deliver vastly larger quantities of produce, and shorter truck distances means more truck drivers can spend the nights with their families.
Climate fags crying about "coal pollution" can fuck off, we need more CO2 in the atmosphere for the plants thus more oxygen for us
The train industry aka Rockefeller and Carnegie did not think that the nascent trucking industry would pose a threat to the train industry. They used the trains to monopolize the distribution and control of products moved around the country. While trains can be a solution for crowded streets and increased fuel usage they also provide a more streamlined method of control of distribution of goods.
The global warming false flag has been debunked for sure. Increasing solar activity is associated with global warming and cooling cycles - CO2 never even entered into it.
Trains take too long to load and unload, that's why the trucking industry took off, faster, cheaper, more practical
think of each train car as an individual semi truck with a fraction of the cost.
Yes each individual truck locked into a chain of other trucks all waiting to be unloaded from these trains to be reloaded to a truck to be brought to the final destination.. Trains take forever, good for shipping some things in bulk but only airplanes beat trucks in time but not cost
Won't work. Most of the tracks were removed in many places. My town has one track remaining. One train can come in, or one train can leave, but not at the same time.
BTW, what's this about "coal pollution"? Trains are diesel-electric, meaning electric motors getting their power from diesel generators.
Loading goods onto trains and then transferring them to trucks is a lot of extra handling that will add to the costs.
I've worked in warehouses. Using forklifts to unload trains and load on to trucks is insignificant. I personally like the idea of more jobs being available.
It would be nice if there were more tracks and more trains, especially passenger trains. Most of the passenger trains disappeared before I had the chance to take a trip on one. The train at Dollywood doesn't really count.
The local warehouses and train sidings are mostly gone and would cost a fortune to replace today.
Actually, there are millions of jobs available, but millions of people don't want to work. I always worked at whatever job I could get at the time. I retired extremely early.
I've driven a forklift too. I saw a guy drive a pallet of bottled Pepsi around a corner a bit too fast and lost it. I had to help clean it up. He caught hell from everyone in the bottling plant.
My brother wait til you find out that the European and Asian monorails were prototypes. And that the US already has a high speed rail system right under our feet. Never meant for your worthless feet or eyes to come near.
