Did not know, but I don't thing they are desperate. Are they recruiting criminals from that area,to fight for their homeland?
No, the interior of Russia. Russia has also raised the enlistment age to 65 years old. There are a lot of signs that Russia’s troop strength is in terrible shape.
What BS. Russia is in great shape. They are offering long sentence prisoners the chance to redeem themselves, for six months of service (+ training). If they make it out alive, they'll e heroes. If they die, they will be buried as heroes.
They are not likely to start a general mobilisation. This is a good way to take maximum aggression to the front.
Has no-one remembered the French Foreign Legion? Oh yeah, the idea is not new.
Watch the speech... these are dudes sentenced for life, they literally say "your only way out of here is in a box".
Again... they've also expanded their recruitment window to 65 years old... SIXTY FIVE!!! You don't recruit geriatrics if your military is in good shape.
Or their building a bigger army,to face potential new threats.
