I got into an argument with some likely-malnourished guy today about how vitamin supplements are borderline-necessary to keep yourself healthy these days. He told me the title quote.
He then sent me this study--don't worry, it's archived--and I naturally started looking for who FUNDED the study.
Well, blow me down, it was the Canadian government. Nope, can't say anything that endangers the gravy train of government grants, no sir!
Obviously, that was all I needed to dismiss it. Truck Fudeau. He took that as surrender. Truck him too.
But whatever, I thought I'd vent some steam a little, because remember: 97% of all scientists agree with who writes the checks.
Meanwhile the Zelenko Protocol, which is mostly vitamins, has kept me flu free for two years now and regular colds don't last as long as they used to when they do happen.
Our body takes what it needs and lets the rest pass through.
This is not true for all vitamins - I forget which ones as I don't do high-dose supplementation but it's definitely not true as a blanket statement.
Fat soluble do not Water soluble do FYI
I’m sorry, I’m not a biologist.
Yeah, there's several comments here to this effect so nothing personal, just in case people are taking comments here as the end-all/be-all....
I don’t take it personal. Everything deserves to be challenged.
You are right about that, I should be more considerate when I say something.
I have been on a Vit binge for about a week, I pee bright yellow with a tint of green. I ate very little one day and could feel a little overloaded from the vitamins, I definitely had more than I needed.
Yellow's the B, I do know that one
Also asparagus can really have surprising results too
You do piss out what your body does not need. This is good.
If you are eating healthy foods (well rounded diet) and not all junk food or processed meals then you should be getting many of the vitamins you need... but not all.
Due to mass scale agriculture processes, not rotating crops, turning soil, using excess chemical fertilizers; even eating healthy foods does not provide us with all the vitamins and minerals we truly need.
Supplements are necessary! Even more so for people living off junk!
Is funny to hear the nay sayers- especially the Heavily funded government types.
So much research into vitamin and mineral supplements that it’s crazy. Just taking 5-10mgs a day of C does the body wonders.
The research and work on heavy doses of a variety of vitamins and minerals is astounding.
Dr. Klenner is the 40-50’s curing polio with Massive vitamin C, Linus Pauling and his studies on Vitamin C- the list goes on. And that is just one Vitamin.
How can people argue against vitamin supplements used to fill in the gaps of our messed up diets?
They also argue against a lot of the things that are good for us, such as HCQ, IVM, etc.
The only conclusion possible is that they don't want people to be healthy. Simple-minded useful idiots thoughtlessly parrot their talking points...
These people stupid. My wife works in healthcare. She's heard all this crap from her nurse and doctor coworkers too... saying that you don't get any benefit from them because you just piss them out, but thats complete BS of course. We've seen massive health benefits in the past couple years, to the point where I don't even know why we would even USE the healthcare system at this point.... all the (expensive as hell) drugs we've been told we needed... turns out we are much healthier without them and none of the issues they were for can't be treated with better nutrition.
One of them is complaining that she can't find an updated covid vaccine for her 15 month old, another has a 38 year old sister who has had two strokes since taking 4th booster, and she is clueless.
People who are this stupid... hate to say it, but they deserve to die. They deserve whatever happens to them.
I told him about the benefits of my own use. He called it psychosomatic.
Whelp, we have blood tests, and various other measures that prove BIG improvements... if thats psychosomatic, then I don't care. Its working.. and I don't have to take dangerous drugs that have all sorts of horrible side effects.
I agree. If you believe something is working, then it's working
If that is the case he is trying to make you ill by planting the seed of a mind virus in your head. Call him a faggot. This solves all debates. Kek
There's an OCEAN of scientific and other data on the benefits of over-the-counter supplements, and there HAS BEEN for many decades. I just pulled my copy of Life Extension: A Practical Scientific Approach Adding Years to Your Life and Life to Your Years (original Warner printing 1983, copyright dates 1982 and portions earlier), by research scientists Durk Pearson and Sandy Shaw off the shelf; it runs 858 pages.
Almost twenty years before that was published, my grandmother told me that one glass of orange juice (which has at most perhaps 100mg of C and perhaps less than 35mg) has "all the vitamin C you can use in a day" for the same reason your friend used -- you'll just piss it out.
It's odd that no-one says that about water -- why drink a second glass today, you'll just piss it out? -- but propaganda takes hold and supporting reasons get created and the propaganda gets embedded even more tightly.
We DO piss out the C we take in, and THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO TAKE IT MORE OFTEN. Most mammals make vitamin C constantly and they make a LOT of it; humans have a defective gene for C manufacture and that's why dogs never get scurvy but we DO. The RDA for C is 75mg for adult females and 90mg for adult males, which is probably, yes, enough to keep you from dying from scurvy but nowhere near enough for optimal health.
Iodine drops, N-A-C, B-vitamins NIACIN!, CoQ10, magnesium/calcium plus D-3 K-2, astaxanthin, nattokinase, serrapeptase, omega 3, boron, tumeric, zinc, liposomal C, melatonin.
Where do you get your NAC? I've always wanted to try some.
N-A-C is a precursor to glutathione meaning it helps the body to manufacture it's own. Exercise produces glutathione. N-A-C & Exercise!!!! Every decent health food store will have it.

Avoid melatonin. Your body will eventually stop producing it on its own if you continue to take it regularly, and that’s a recipe for disaster.
Take it intermittently. Few days on few days off.
Wait, what?! Seriously?!
After so many months of this board telling me it was a GOOD thing that I'd started taking it?!
Didn't you read the study? Niacin increases your chances of dying from everything :)
Night blindness, scurvy, pellagra, rickets, beri beri....
I pound the vitamins down.
Havent been to the dr in decades.
I think I remember that you will eliminate B and C in urine because they're water soluble vitamins (you can smell the B in your pee). A, D, and E are fat soluble and it's possible to overdose on A. I haven't heard that about D and E though.
Speaking of soluble, the guy kept telling me--against all observable phenomena--that salads are full of insoluble fiber, which makes you MORE constipated than if you didn't bother.
ROFL
Have him read the book about the soccer team (or whatever) that crashed in the Andes, had to resort to eating the dead eventually, and how they had to use pieces of the plane to try to get the poop going/out (I'm told this was omitted from the movie version).
Was it "Alive"?
Yeah that sounds right, unless there's another book about it.
I don't think you need supplements. Eat meat, organs, raw dairy, fruit honey, eggs, and you won't need supplements. It's only because our daily diets are lacking that there would be any need for artificial nutrients. Get what you need from the food you eat.
Yeah you got downvoted for common sense...bottom line is if you eat a decent diet you are getting the vitamins/minerals you need. EVERY thread on here there's people weighing in with The Proper Supplementation (All Variations Thereof - you will note there is in fact NOT "Only One" however) and I usually just ignore it all. And of course there will be non-scientific results like "I started this and don't get sick anymore" but I wouldn't bet if they're doing that they didn't shift their thinking/diet/exercise/what have you towards more healthy in the process, even if they aren't thinking about it....
Is there a good multi vitamin that doesn't use the cyanide B12 process Cyanocobalamin?
This is a great Bill Cooper episode about the FDA raid on Dr Wright who was selling vitamins.
Food is just expensive shit.
Next time; shit on the guys face. Send him a bill for $500 for the plate of food he got.
