Q assigned early on to watch the movie War Games, old movie that is super relevant today. The message is that there is only one way to win a global thermal nuclear war and that is to not play.

Exactly this. They are not interested in destruction of cities and buildings. More so in the depopulation of undesired races, which to them is anyone but their little cult.
