Two Russians ask for asylum after landing at Gambell: Sullivan, Murkowski issue statement on Arctic security - Must Read Alaska
Two Russians have requested asylum after they landed their small boat on a beach Alaska’s St. Lawrence Island on Tuesday near the small community of Gambell, about 36 miles from mainland Eastern Russia. The details are still sketchy, but the two are now in...
I love how many of the commenters to the article are sarcastic about two Russians defecting compared to thousands of “defectors” coming across our Southern boarder.
A comedy movie was made about something like this in the 1960's, and I think it was at Marthas Vineyard.
"The Russians are Coming, The Russians are Coming!"

I loved that movie and so did my kids.
Oh heck, put that one on the list for winter night viewing!
Perhaps they are Atlanticists (cabal Russians) and hope to make the news for propaganda reasons.
I would definitely believe this is a MSM spin that Russia is “losing” the battle against Ukraine. Whateva…

Flipping KEK!!
5 million illegal aliens have crossed the southern border since pedohitler stole the 2020 election. These 2 guys get a whole article written about them cause “Muh Russia!”
They just wanna go live on Martha's vineyard or one of those cruise ships in the Hudson river.
Seems rather odd that'd she say this out loud...
Almost like she's trying to tip someone off? Not like we didn't already know she was a black hat/traitor.
I do wonder if this is comms of some sort, not just “Russia is losing” propaganda. Then another theory is it was just two drunk Russians who got lost at sea…? Kek
My take is she wants to waste a bunch of money starting up a border patrol and put other freedom restrictions on us and probably pocket money on the side.
This reads like comms to me; given what we read today about the Russian sub, I'm thinking she's letting someone know that the Border Patrol is getting involved.
That makes sense.
I find it so ironic that our two state senators are talking about “Arctic boarder security” for two Russians who landed their boat on a very small island owned by Alaska…. And yes, I’ll go there - the MSM did misstate Sarah Palin when she said “you can see Russia from my house”. She was speaking metaphorically that Alaska (American soil) is VERY close to Russia (approx 35 miles).
If you go out onto Little Diomede (Island of Alaska) and Big Diomede (Russian) yes, you actually can. The "from my house" bit is not what she actually said, but is attributed to SNL.
'Tis an invasion force of two with designs to plant the Russian flag and claim Alaska..
I think you meant to say “take it back” :-)
Quite, my bad. Got lost in satire and mirth momentarily.
Idc what the reason is. Send them back along with the rest of the illegals
