I spent a lot of time lurking on TDW then PW and I can tell you what I witnessed. There was so much datefagging going on that a large number of them destroyed relationships with family, friends and spouses that it became daily stories of how they had trashed pieces of their lives over it. Many even spoke of financial decisions made in expectation of the financial world being taken down expecting all debt to be erased.
IMO it's a number of things. 1) Telegram has improved their engagement capabilities. It's easier to comment/reply and otherwise participate there. 2) PW is rising. We're not getting as many 'converts' coming over from there, as PW has basically become a sort of Q/PW hybrid board. 3) I think it's the way we mod around here. We've grown less than the people coming in. We are a hardcore research board. It's hard to "grow" GAW and maintain the "no doomers, no faggots" rule that the mods enforce. Our movement needs a central core of analysis and deeper thought if we're going to succeed. So, we're content to just feed the core, keep that healthy and strong, and grow as needed when it comes time.
The mods are holding the dam up to keep it from bursting, but all we're holding is a rusty rake.
