I live probably 10-15 miles from this. A friend of mine who is related to some NH State Troopers once told me the password for those signs. It's something ridiculously simple like NHDOT. The tagging in the area is constant. They clean a section, and it just gets tagged again. If they are willing to do that, I am sure this is real.
And as the signs are often owned and operated by private contractors doing the road work, there’s often little government transportation officials can do to prevent the hacking.

In MA here, I don't doubt it, keep seeing more & more graffiti like this too. For ME, MA, NH, & VT, solid blue towns are fairly few. (Augusta ME & Portland, Boston MA & Brookline, Cambridge, Newton, Cape (retired MA state .gov hacks), Concord NH & UNH / Rt. 93 towns (MA -> NH exodus but commute to MA), Burlington VT, & Montpelier. Liberal progressive fucks always cluster up like ants.
Then you have purple towns which don't lean hard left and sometimes vote right. Finally solid red towns & counties, there are still Trump signs & flags up in those. But it's the density of the liberal enclaves and the the purple towns that keep them in power. Even though (in MA anyway) independents (no party reg) outnumber democrats. That number has been growing for 20 years years, the democrat party is shrinking. MA won't turn red anytime soon but the last 2 years have shaken many purple voters out of their sleep as far as what democrats are doing.
I don't actually know so don't take my word at all on this. But i think you just have to put a password or turn a key and you just type it in on the machine itself. But tbh irdk🤷♂️
Mass is really our problem, they keep moving here to avoid all the taxes and problems they created in mass and then keep voting for dems once here and eroding our positives that attracted them in the first place.
VT people at least stay there because they truly like living in what they see as a hippie paradise. It seems like a dying state though, so maybe we’ll merge them with NH at some point.
Should have a 10 year moratorium on voting in another state for relocators to at least give a chance at steeping them in a different political direction. It’s maddening. At the very least, make them pay for it entirely.
A factoid I've always found amazing. Both states superficially seem so similar. Small size. Similar population. Similar mountainous ecosystems. Similar climate. Why near socialist in one state and basically libertarian in the other?
