Yes, that is always a concern. But in a general sense it's been the last days since the Resurrection, the beginning of the Church Age, and there's been no shortage of mislabeling good and evil down through the millennia. As the real end point comes, it should only get worse. And even now, it can get MUCH worse.
People have drawn passive attitudes from verses like this, but I believe that is not what Scripture commands. We are to keep fighting, as the promise is that the gates of hell will not prevail against us. The worse thing is to sit around and do nothing when we could have won, or even if we can't win, at least we can save and help some people. We must fight on, and fight to win.
