Every few days I keep hearing someone I know has "decided" to move back home from US. This was such a rare occurrence in the past 20 years that, taking into account how many software companies have been laying people off recently and the recent crash of companies like Meta and not to mention the layoffs are Twitter, leads me to believe only one thing.
The Cabal free money to Big Tech is drying up, and their puppets are being left high and dry. Good times!
From your lips to God’s ears, friend.
I'm not sure I understand your statement, "...move back home from US." Does this mean foreigners working here in the US moving back to their respective countries? Or does it mean US workers currently working in offices in other countries, moving back to the US?
I think it means the H1B visa folks are going back to their homelands. If they lose the employment connected to their visa then they have to leave the US.
Technically they have 30 (or 60?) days to find a new employer sponsor, but in this climate (layoffs) that is not going to be easy.
H1Bs are the first to go. It gets really interesting if the green card holders also decide to return home.
I think he means back home FROM the US. That's why I asked where home was, because we have so many foreign tech workers in the US. Particularly people from India.
And China.
And yes he means the foreign workers are LEAVING the US to go back to their home.
Good. They can try to fix their own country instead of messing with ours.
This is all part of GA fren. One the third world countries can do their own thing with out interference from the Cabal, things will not just get better there, it will cause a lot of expats to head back home, become involved there and in the process become wealthier than being wage slaves in a foreign country
You will see immigrants move back voluntarily. I had predicted this more than a year ago
America is a melting pot. Most of us came from immigrants from somewhere, I'm fine with people coming here legally, identifying as Americans and joining the Republic. But work visas should be very short term and rare. And people with dual citizenships should need to choose.
You had predicted an as-of-yet-unproven theory? That's not really noteworthy at this point. fwiw.
Yep, and when it gets proven you know who predicted it ;)
Haha, and if I forget, you'll remind me, right? :D
Have a great day!
Foreigners working in US moving back to their home countries.
Decentralized, localized tech is the future...
Also slow and steady tech, not crazy and disruptive
Agreed. I am already putting those concepts into practice, and the results are orders of magnitude better (by every metric) than the current "best practice" solutions.
Interesting! I hope it's true! Where is home, btw?
Most of the ones I am hearing from are from India.
That's kind of what I figured, since we have so many Indian techies here. Thanks for answering.
Stock market technology stocks are crashing now. They will crash first than physical factorys next.
They were always more heavily dependant on the magic money, hence the most volatile.
Indian tech workers are self-deporting.
Watch out for a fresh flood of nternet scammers?
Hello Grandma, I love you. Unfortunately I overpaid your return. Now go to Target and by 10 $50 gifts cards for me.
Anecdotal evidence unfortunately. Even with big tech crashing there are still that many unfilled software engineering positions that all those laid off can still find work. They just won't be getting the 250k+ equity salaries anymore.
This is the key. If they stop earning this kind of crazy money, and they already have a decent amount in the bank, when converted to their native currency can allow them to live a much more luxurious life back home, the calculus becomes very different.
But even taking a pay cut and working at 150k per year at a mid size company (of which there are a plethora in need of talent) is still better than going back to India. There are some cities and places in India completely modernized but overall the opportunity is still better in America.
I'm from one of the most concentrated areas of Indians living in America, I haven't heard much about people going back home. I'll ask around and find out.
Would love to get more anecdotal data. Check around within the demographics of younger ones who don't have a green card.
From where? No one I know is moving "back to India" for example.
We’re watching job losses in Twitter, Stripe etc here in Ireland, wondering who’s next. A lot would be non nationals (twitter, FB etc wanting european language speakers & while we can speak them a bit, we’re anglophone 🤷♀️).
