"(A) the release of $391 million of United States taxpayer funds that Congress had appropriated on a bipartisan basis for the purpose of providing vital military and security assistance to Ukraine to oppose Russian aggression and which President Trump had ordered suspended; and [...]"
Also I noticed "russian agression" several times in this articles of impeachment filed in 2019. Though IIRC, was Russia really showing any signs of aggression then? The only thing that really happened that year was Former comic actor Volodymyr Zelenskiy is elected president. Even the Reuters timeline of events doesn't show any signs"agression" until 2021.
How foreboading and conveient that the democrats already knew at the time that they needed the future Ukraine/ Russia war to happen so that they could endlessly funnel money back to themselves.
In short the Democrats impeached President Trump so they could fund their 2020 and 2022 campaigns
I would argue not. The money was promised on a certain date. It arrived on that date and no threats were issued nor blackmail implied to the recipient.
If I promised a friend a lift in my car and told him that I would pick him up at 7:30 then I said to my wife that I may need to rethink the lift offer but I turned up at 7:30 and gave him a lift, would I be guilty of blackmail? Did I withhold the lift?
Basically, how can anyone be guilty of coersion, blackmail, quid pro quo if the object of your coersion, blackmail or quid pro quo knows nothing about it?
