Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear. — Isaiah 59:1

When I was younger, I did some work with a painter. While working with him, I worked on many construction sites and learned a lot about how to do various repairs and maintenance on a home. That knowledge has helped me throughout my adult life so I could make repairs without having to call someone to help.

Not long ago, I was attempting to do some of these types of things around the house. The knowledge was still there, even after so many years. There was just one problem that I found. I’m not as young as I used to be. My body doesn’t move as freely as it did when I was younger. It’s more challenging to get into tight spots. Not to mention the pain that follows the next day.

As we get older, our ability to do some of the things that we did when we were younger may change. We may not be able to maneuver as we once did. Our athletic ability may diminish. There are so many examples of how things change as we get older. But I’m so glad that no matter how much time passes, the ability of our God is not diminished at all!

I love the words that Isaiah wrote here. In the verse above, it reminds us that God’s hand is not shortened at all. Nothing has cut off God’s ability to intervene and execute in our lives. There is no earthly power, no challenge, no trial, not one single thing that can stop God and His ability to work in your life.

So while the mountain may seem high before you, God is still able. When the road seems too tough to travel, God is still able. Perhaps the heartache and suffering seem too great to bear, God is still able! Don’t lose faith, nothing can stop our God!
