We give NASA billions upon billions of dollars and they can't detect an object entering Earth's atmosphere until 3 hours before impact.

No reason to think NASA is lying about this mission. It's not much to crow about, however. It took a year for the impactor to collide with the asteroid. Which means that at least a year of advance notice is necessary in order to successfully react to a threat. As the post points out, it is quite commonplace not to know an Earth encounter is going to happen until hours beforehand (or hours afterward).
Aside from every reason to assume NASA is lying about the mission you mean when Muslim outreach is their primary goal apparently ever since the Obama years and Obama scrapped the space shuttle to the point we were reliant on the Russians for resupplying the very useless and very expensive ISS. Whoops.
You don't have any reason. Blind prejudice is not reason. The Space Shuttle had to be scrapped because it was a deathtrap---or haven't you been paying attention? Just because NASA is a poor steward of public service does not mean that it is lying about hard science.
Look, NASA is a very mixed bag. Some things it does well (planetary exploration), some things it does simply to stay employed (manned space), and other things it does to push a bogus agenda (climate change). You need to learn how to tell the false from the true.
