Why is rsv the thing everyone has? Even adults? I've only ever heard of babies getting it before. Seems odd that at the same time, I'm hearing ads in the grocery store urging adults to get the rsv vax.

There are other ways to be immunocompromised besides the vax. These kids have not trained their immune systems and are swimming in a sterile bubble that is unsafe.

My grown niece has a serious case. Supposedly it's making the rounds in adults. And she is vaxxed.
My nurse friend (vaxxed) has two kids that are currently sick with rsv. She took the kids to a doctor (not something I would have done) and he told her they will BOTH have rvs on and off until Spring.

The new baby's chest walls are not firm enough, yet, to cough. So, a regular cold can kill the child easily. This happened to 3 of my grandchildren. One was on the brink of death for 5 days.
The hep vaccine given to them (at 8-hours) old weakens their immune response to cold viruses. Normally, they have more natural protection, but the vax wipes it out.

Never heard of RSV in adults until lately. My wife was telling me about her patients having it. No confirmation on vax status but I wouldn't be shocked if they were
Most of the time, RSV just causes cold like symptoms. Most people only get sick for a few days, then get over it.
RSV can develop into pneumonia, especially in the elderly and infants.
I bet both vaxed and unvaxed are spreading RSV. There doesn't seem to be anything in the Covid vax that would prevent spread of RSV, but unvaxed have been spreading it also. It's a natural virus that's likely been with us for centuries.
So far as running out to get an RSV vax... I wouldn't. What they may put in that shot is not worth the risk. Just take care of yourself, take vitamins, avoid exposure where possible... and then if you do get sick, use common sense. Develop your immunity naturally.

What's RSV ?
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a respiratory virus that is a common cause of respiratory illness in children. It can also infect adults, but most people who become infected with RSV have already had the virus and have immunity to it. RSV is highly contagious and spreads easily through respiratory secretions, such as saliva, mucus, and nasal secretions. It can be spread through direct contact with these secretions, or through droplets that are spread through the air when an infected person talks, coughs, or sneezes.
Symptoms of RSV infection can range from mild to severe and may include fever, runny nose, cough, and difficulty breathing. Also, most children get RSV by two primarily from other children, but children have been isolated for two years and now young children are getting it all at once.
Also, some type of pathogenic priming could be happening. In Moderna's children trials, there was a 400% increase in children getting RSV in the injection group over placebo. A similar phenomenon has been observed with flu vaccines.

I thought this cold I picked up over the weekend felt different as it came with a cough. Given the silly overlap in symptoms how many COVID cases were really just RSV? I've just been taking NAC and consuming zinc and vitamin C like candy.
