not every meter has the remote shutoff. That costs more per meter. They are saved for the VIP customers that dont pay their bills. The vast majority simply send back usage for billing and have no controls. At least thats what we install.
The push for the meters is to save money, no trucks, no fuel, no insurance, reduced payroll for meter readers etc.
we installed a powerline carrier system for our meters as we have areas with distances between customers in a lot of areas and a mesh system was not really the best solution. Works great when the bugs are worked out.
They showed up on my property. I chased them off and said I 'opted out' and didn't want it....so they snuck on the next day and installed while i was at work.
They now want money to uninstall.....giving red tape and opposition all the way, and extra charge to read the meter.
Convenience is the candy/bait and it's working.
btw: The bill conveniently has been identical for several months....an impossibility....evidence of 'averaging' service charges....regardless of having a remote reader.
Jesus no it is not. They do have internal disconnects that will cut off the ones that dont pay their bills. As to controlling the power use the utility always had that, look up load shedding. The smart meters simply allow the billing to be collected remotely instead of rolling meter readers. If you opt into and allow remote control of your say heaters then you are an idiot.
"They do have internal disconnects that will cut off ....."
That's called confirmation......the reason/agenda......'don't pay their bills' is subject to change.
Guess what? I STOPPED a smart meter from being deployed at my house. What did they do? Snuck back onto the property and installed it on the sly while I was at work the next day.
If you think you were going to have a choice in meters......and control of those meters and service....and that the tech is about 'just reading meters'....
jesus man. On this you are wrong. And yea you should have to pay extra every month as they will have to send a guy to read your meter, that costs money. You should have to pay time and mileage for the reader as well as the truck that rolls.
Along with the convenience, It can be shut off remotely, so I see no evidence of being wrong. "On this you are wrong" doesn't tell me anything different.
A flip of the switch and 'darkness' can be attained.
It isn't 'my' idea. I research numerous sources about 5G and how it was to be used. It's not that I don't understand the concept of convenience or the technology.
The cost of reading the meter was included in the bill before the meter was installed, my bill didn't go down as a result. My neighbor who got no meter wasn't charged extra. Interesting.
I find it interesting that Snope-style nay-saying sites like to tell you that 5G operates in a 'safe' frequency, when in fact, it operates in similar frequency band as the mind.
You know they came and put them on in my neighborhood. They walked on to peoples property without appointments and did it without saying anything. When they were asked what they were doing they said that they were letters that were sent out ahead of time. If you want to opt out of this meter you have to pay a certain amount every month not to have it.
"....were just meters".
That's a false security blanket, given it's actual capabilities.
You know about how the meter talks to the office and relays signals between other meters right? Frequency communication.
You know about plans for 5G that use same/similar tech?
You install the things. Maybe you should have looked into them a little deeper.
I designed the communications and the substation install at our customers. You are paranoid.
You don't know the MOTIVES and AGENDAS of your boss's boss.
The grunt in the foxhole knows little about the motives of war.
I've had discussions with a person who said that because he used to install radios, a Tesla theory was wrong.
My father was supervisor at a power plant. He didn't know about tech beyond his training nor care about agendas either.
You aren't a psychologist nor a deep diving researcher, so the 'paranoid' label is, as claimed for utilities agendas, just a matter of convenience.
You seem to be confusing my technical fact ( electricity can be shut down remotely at a whim)......with my assertion of an agenda behind it.
I was trained in psychology and saw first-hand the effect that radio signals can have on the brain. I didn't even get into that.
Bone up on the agendas.

then you're the idiot, all salt aside.
Expertise isn't what it used to be.

To them it seems to be an orgone conclusion.
Fully agree about the 5G it is dangerous and should never been considered for deployment.

Same here, but NO LETTERS.
They lied their asses off.
Yeah I didn’t believe the letters were sent either
