My first Thanksgiving 100% sober.. also the first Thanksgiving without my grandfather I took care of for 11 years. Was a weird mix of emotions but as the world keeps gettin nuttier I'm just glad my heads getting clearer

6
SuzyeQ 6 points ago +6 / -0

Congratulations on being sober and sorry about your grandfather. You are one great person that would sacrifice your time to care for your grandfather. God will bless you for that. This day in time there are not many people that will care for a parent much less a grandparent. Stand up and take a bow because you definitely deserve it. God bless you. 🙏🏻🇺🇸

3
Chapman 3 points ago +3 / -0

How long have you been sober for?

5
Jamezelo 5 points ago +5 / -0

I'm about 2 weeks shy of 5 months

4
Chapman 4 points ago +4 / -0

Well done.

Do you have any advice to share for pedes who are about to walk the same path?

I'm three years sober. For years I promised myself to "stop drinking tomorrow" and one day I realized that rather than never drinking again, all I had to do was choose not to drink tonight.

The big thing for me was to replace my hobby of drinking with healthy interests like learning to cook quick and healthy meals and going for a long evening walk instead of sitting in front of the TV and drinking.

This may sound like bad advice to some and it's not great but it helped me on a few occasions: during low times in my life during the first few months, my brain would use my other life problems as an excuse to have a drink. A few times I felt that I wasn't going to make it to morning without a drink, so I had half a non-prescription sleeping pill. Just a half dose. Made me sleepy within half an hour. I didn't like doing it because it felt like a failure of will power, but it also felt like a better option than relapsing.

3
Jamezelo 3 points ago +3 / -0

I don't, cause for me I had to hit absolute bottom to finally climb my way out and that's not a method I suggest lol

6
09re 6 points ago +6 / -0

Anybody notice we don't hear terms like, "it would've been worse if I wasn't vaxxed." Nobody breaking thier neck to crow about that now. You just know the tide is turning.

Heh. TG music chill session continues. This randomly came up on Twitter (as a relevant reply). This really was a brilliant album.

Yazoo - "In My Room"

3
PepeSee 3 points ago +3 / -0

Even the haters admit [The Orb - The Dream - ed.] Codes is great.

3
PepeSee 3 points ago +3 / -0

The Orb - DDD (Dirty Disco Dub)

Edit: Some Orb fans consider The Dream a great album. Others - probably 2/3 are indifferent to it, or (often) think IT SUCKS. I am in the former camp. It's getting a vinyl issue (it's the only Orb album never released on vinyl previously) on Liquid Sound Design records Q1 2023.

Edit 2: I don't just think it's great. It's really one of their best IMO. Certainly far more interesting than UFOrb which I'd get stoned if I said this on the Orb group....

This is David Martin who is a very courageous man.court cases against Joe biden etc talking about his estimate of three billion dying ww.

( So called Spanish flu .. Rockefellers last experimental horse serum vaxx killed one third of the world by bacterial pneumonia autopsies showed. Only the vaxxed died.)

I was kept away last night concerned about vaxxed people finding out from twitter ..they will be in traumatic shock right now....seems such a cruel way...

How soon will it take for these people to not go to work..not drive the bus or plane or fill supermarket shelves with food ..how about lorries and trains bringing food supplies from ports?

Will there be people taking justice into their own hands? Going to tackle their doctors or nhs? What about parents who forced their children to get vaxxed? Or employers?

I don't see how chaos can be avoided ..your thoughts please

What do you all think? .

Mountaing8 4 points ago +4 / -0

This news may be particularly hard for my countrymen in the USA who are meeting with their families for Thanksgiving dinner. There might be some upsetting conversations on a holiday meant for gratitude and relationship. My prayers for peace, hope and understanding.

I think there is an awful lot of hardship coming which most have never experienced before.

I do wish I wasn't in UK for this next period of time....

4
09re 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yes

2
uk9994 2 points ago +3 / -1

Yes meaning what? Do you think chaos can be avoided ...please say how.

4
09re 4 points ago +4 / -0

I totally exspect a social economic collapse when at that point all those that forced the vax will be hunted down like rats. This includes doctors , government officials, and politicians.

3
uk9994 3 points ago +4 / -1

It sounds like a mad max type of world is coming.....that and zombie apocalypse..is that what they were showing us ...

..I think all the illegals in each country are the armies drafted in to protect the officials etc. They didn't have to get vaxxed.

It's hard to believe but they are still vaxxing people here...it sounds like another pandemic coming....

If the rich thought they could hide in bunkers for years they were mad....

6
throwawayforyou 6 points ago +6 / -0

Arrests will contain the chaos...Q literally told us.

3
uk9994 3 points ago +4 / -1

Thank you for that...

5
throwawayforyou 5 points ago +5 / -0

I hope it certainly plays out that way. We really do need to witness the justice.

2
uk9994 2 points ago +3 / -1

Clif high just said on his telegram that the military isn't going to arrest anyone..it's down to us.

The amount of people needing to be arrested amounts to a country!!!

I can't see the military arresting people...80 soldiers just found dead in their beds....most of them vaxxed..makes you wonder what's going on.

Here in UK hardly anyone apart from criminals can protect themselves never mind arrest anyone. The ex health secretary who arranged the killing of thousands of care hom residents is being paid to appear on TV every week in a game show...the po!ice saying there was nothing to investigate..

It's like living in a nightmare

3
uk9994 3 points ago +4 / -1

Dr Martin says the British have all USA wealth ..gold etc.and Congress will alter properly rights to take property out of the hands of citizens as that is the only thing they have left to nationalise as they can't nationalise money.

Is this true? I read gold etc remove from London Britain? Why would Britain have all USA precious assets gold silver etc?

Does this mean anyone holding precious metals etc is going to have it confiscated? In other countries? Sounds like it!

What the future holds re. Millions of injured older people...no health care as due to run out of money in three years.....who is going to look after them?

We have to stop them injecting animals with this mRNA jab..it will destroy the world. We mostly all suffer gut problems from crop tampering in 1902

Clif highs newsletter yesterday says we are winning and he never thought he would say that.......

I miss the Shitpost flair.

It's historical. It has nuance. It has cultural significance. It tells it like it is.

To me, "kekpost" simply means .... er.... "funny". As in kek. As in lol. As in haha.

Yes, to lol is human, to kek, divine. But it's still kinda just means funny, don't it?

But "shitpost", that's a whole nuther thing. Shitpost is a hat tip towards anarchy, chaos, as a disrupter of systems, which is what we anons do (are doing). Not true anarchy, obviously, but a slam on the brakes that says:

Hey! Snap out of it! Expand your thinking and step out of the programming!

And DJT is the greatest shitposter, is he not? To troll is human, to shitpost, divine.

Shitpost is the larrikin, the maverick. Shitpost is anons doing what anons do as they release the stress and pressure of dealing with the underbelly of Craptown, World Capital.

Shitpost is a paradox and a tautology. Can shit be a post? Can a post be shit?

Both the raison d'etre for our board in the first place (post) and yet, the antithesis of why we are here (shit). It's what we all are in the end (wormfeed), but also our saving grace (we can think, feel, share, contribute).

Shit post, posting shit.

Shitposts are often kekolicious, but just as often, that is not all they are.

And who doesn't feel a whole lot better after they have a really satisfying...

I'm going to go all Elon (sans billions) here:

Reinstate Shitpost Flair?

Vox pepe, Vox dei!

PepeSee 2 points ago +2 / -0

I was wondering. FIX THIS SHITPOST!

Edit: Pleaseandthanks. It's early....

Edit 2: It's already done, a Thanksgiving...well not miracle exactly but yet another thing to be thankful for.

Question of the Day (Pirate Version)

When will u/rooftoptendie return from sabbatical, and in what manner?

a) RT will come back in 40 days, and return in a fiery chariot (whence she left on), breathing spicy recipes and kimchi breath on the board

b) RT is still here, but is lurking and working as a handshake account, taking notes for her upcoming book "GAW and the Storm: What we all like to Eat. Subtitle: Your Favorite Precipice Recipes"

c) RT will return on the 3rd Day. Look to the East and the rising of the sun. There will be no balrogs.

d) other

She'll never be back. I've already seen her in a new Korean soap opera version of Game of Thrones, where she portrays the Queen of Chickens (닭의 여왕). She's listed in the credits as Kim Chee. 👑 🐓

Wow. I never imagined... and yet, believable.

Will they be doing that scene? You know, the famous one? "Red Pepper Wedding" (고추장 웨딩)?

Well, GAW's loss is the world of culture's gain.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, FRENS! 🤗♥️

I thought I could share this formatting cheat sheet here:

MAIN TITLE

italics text

subtitle

  • bold item: normal text
  • other item

quote

3 underscores is an horizontal separator and to display code, just preceed everything with 4 spaces.

Here’s the source code of the formatted part above:

___

# MAIN TITLE

*italics text*

## subtitle

* **bold item:** normal text
* other item

> quote

___

The other features I have yet not needed/looked for.

bubble_bursts [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

This is pretty awesome, and I know lot of people have been asking for this. Can you make a separate post with this?

Also, there is an easy way to display code.

Put 3 "tic" without space between them, before and after the code:

```
Code goes here.
...
...
More code
```

Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody. We have a lot to be thankful for!

8
5DWeBe 8 points ago +8 / -0

What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food? I’ll start.... Stuffing, with lots of junk in it. Spices, fruits, nuts, etc. I just love it, especially with a little gravy.

2
SuzyeQ 2 points ago +2 / -0

Dressing with giblet gravy and macaroni and cheese pie.

2
Chapman 2 points ago +2 / -0

My daughter is vegetarian so I also made a couscous and walnut wellington for the table. That was delicious!

I also made a parsnip potato gratin that was close to perfection.

4
PepeSee 4 points ago +4 / -0

Anyone I've ever asked, stuffing is usually the #1 by a long shot (myself included) then usually casserole (broccoli/rice - mushrooms and sharp cheddar - would be mine).

5
throwawayforyou 5 points ago +5 / -0

We got pretty good green bean casserole with those onion straw things and cream of mushroom. Cheap but the people like it. Your broccoli sounds great!

3
PowderRoomPolitics 3 points ago +3 / -0

Agreed. I will let people in on one of my secrets for green bean casserole: use frozen rather than canned.

3
PepeSee 3 points ago +3 / -0

CoM/green beans/fried onions* is great, it's like a perfect combo. Like the Cajuns have "the holy trinity" type of thing.

5
5DWeBe 5 points ago +5 / -0

Broccoli rice and cheese is on the menu at my mother in laws today. It’s my favorite at the in laws house, because...shhhh, it’s the only thing she can cook well. 😂 My mom in the other hand is a fantastic cook. We had thanksgiving with them on Sunday. The food is on point! We get two thanksgiving meals, both very different.

Edit: Forgot to mention, I love a good green bean casserole!

6
moodyblue 6 points ago +6 / -0

I’d rather have Mexican than traditional Thanksgiving food. I do love a good pan cooked dressing with gravy. That’s better than the turkey. I know it’s not healthy but I love canned cranberry sauce (jello should be what it’s called). I’m weird I put gravy on cranberry sauce. In the south depending on your region you either eat cornbread dressing or dressing with celery, onions and spices. Think stove top dressing 1,000 times better. We don’t put dressing in the bird.

6
5DWeBe 6 points ago +6 / -0

Canned cranberry sauce. Yum! Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. Because, I love to eat!

3
moodyblue 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hope you got your belly full today of great food. I ate to much so I brought dessert home.

6
PepeSee 6 points ago +6 / -0

Hmmm stuffing in the bird is critical to get all them juices, IMO.

Edit: I also eat Mexican pretty much constantly but I get your point LOL. If forced to pick one cuisine, I would bitch and moan about missing lots of others but that would be the desert island one, again if absolutely forced.

3
moodyblue 3 points ago +3 / -0

My brother in law cooked the turkey on Pit Boss grill. I don’t even like turkey and it was the best I’ve ever had. So moist! I think for me I prefer dressing out of bird because of the crispy edges, if cooked properly. I can’t judge, I’ve never cooked it. Yeah, Mexican is the best.

4
PepeSee 4 points ago +4 / -0

Crispy edges - ah yes I can see that. No way THAT happens in the bird unless you have serious problems, like a bomb hitting your house or something.

8
Recyclops 8 points ago +8 / -0

A good stuffing is hard to beat. Growing up, my family had one with pear and sausage slices in it. I can't remember the other ingredients, but it was delicious. Practically a meal in itself.

4
5DWeBe 4 points ago +4 / -0

That sounds delicious. My dad makes two because my mom doesn’t like it in the bird. We have in the bird with cherries, nuts, cranberries, and who the heck else knows. Then we have one out of the bird. Both good. I end up getting some of both and they eventually get mixed.

6
PepeSee 6 points ago +6 / -0

If I was doing it, with the pear, possibly some cabbage and onion in the mix - because there's a German fried cabbage dish I do that's basically butter/apples/cabbage/onion/salt and the synergy there is great, so I could see the pear working the same way. That's one approach at least....

5
moodyblue 5 points ago +5 / -0

That sounds interesting.
