I have noticed certain posters are posting constantly sometimes in 1 minute intervals which is physically impossible. Elon noticed the same thing on twitter. Is GAW infested with BOTS who don’t appear to sleep and have over one million posts?

One person was called out for the constant posting 24 hours per day and they replied with verbally abusive BS that should never be tolerated here.
👍
😽
I counted 91 posts made by the same person one day. That's a lot.
And this morning 13 consecutive posts from one contributor, and its only the start of the day. Makes you wonder what drives this urge...
Thank you. I cannot stand the effing a-hole and have not posted here in a long time because of the likes of him and his ilk. This place has really become a sad parody and glad I at least saw this to get a chance to say my piece. Back to other more worthwhile pursuits.

Is that even possible? Have to say, that might be worth considering. increase quality by slightly restricting volume.
Thanks for the thoughts, Pep.
I guess if they thought that the uber-posting of some of out more prolific contributors was problematic or less than helpful, they could easily message them with a request or guidance. So far, they seem happy.
I really like Ashlands, but when I see 12 posts all covering the NEW stream, well, I don't know. I guess I haven't really paid too much attention to whether there are any active sliders out there. Regarding Purkiss, I wish you guys would cool off a bit. I do think Pur is very touchy, and in the past, I challenged him quite a bit for some of his less than diligent posting practices (i.e. indicating source, posting in ways that simply lets board pedes think HE is the source, when he's just conveying Tgram stuff, etc.)
But, I put it up to good intent, and simply practices that I personally would take a lot more care on. These days, however, I very rarely look at Pur's stuff, and I'm also happy to see that other pedes are posting telegram etc content. Before, it seemed always pur, but these days, more folks have stepped up to convey and connect info from others sources, esp telegram.
Yes we get inundated with shills, bots and the typical plethora of narrative spinners. The Mods do great job!
Only advice I can give is... Always use discernment when reading anything online, including here.
See something, say something
Yes, and if they are trying to get you to doom, block and move on. The doom attacks have been HARD!
The good news is that we are definitely over the target. The censorship, shilling and dooming wouldnt be necessary if all hope were truly lost!
over the target
Frankly we'd be disappointed it we weren't under constant atrack? Badge of honor for us.
We bullet proof wearing that armor of God, Buckle of Truth.
Facts
In all seriousness, those 3 effed up, because this board without rooftoptendie comments is but a hollow shell of an ersatz succedaneum.
That's the first time (in recent memory) I've used a thesaurus to come up with a word, although I've certainly been accused of it many times.
And I still don't believe it was quite the right word.
I really wanted a noun with the same "sub-par" connotations of ersatz, and my brain tells me there absolutely exists that exact word I'm looking for... but I couldn't come up with it this morning, so 🤷♂️.
= substitute substitute.
Ersatz is a German word and, during WW2, was frequently used to describe substitute "coffee" made from acorns. Nowadays it tends to imply something which is fake and maybe deliberately intended to deceive, such as "ersatz leather".
Indeed, as I stated, I was actively looking for direct repetition, to echo the intentional redundancy of "hollow shell".
Well, I'm adding succedaneum to my list.
It's a good word.
Sounds kinda nasty, though.
Sux-a-dane-ee-um
Ersatz was a popular MAD magazine word back in the 70s. It made me laugh then and it is still funny today.
Right!
Upvoted for "succedaneum"👌I remember learning the def of "erstatz" when reading, "The Erstatz Elevator" in the Series of Unfortunate Events🐸
I did that a long time ago, greatly improved my experience.
ps I baked a cake in my instapot yesterday!
it was good! really moist. really really moist. It was fun to do
super easy and quick. Very moist, not like a dry cake at all.
lmk
What's instapot, precious?
https://www.instanthome.com/
An instapot is a kitchen appliance that is a pressure cooker. Can also use as a crock pot, and to bake, and make yogurt. It's great for just about anything. Mostly I use mine for soup or stew prep, but yesterday I used it to bake a from- scratch cake. And it was delicious!
Goodness.
They look like they might be sending signals to the dark base on the other side of the moon. O.o
hahaha right? R2D2
Some people here truly do have diarrhea of the fingers. 🫤
I’ve also noticed those same posters are avoiding this discussion.
Except to pad their “comment score” by adding replies to replies. (Purkiss)
Kek !
I've conversed directly with a few posters here who post like that. They simply prepare their posts offline, say in Word or Wordtext, along with links, and then post them in sequence. Ashlanddog and penisse are two of them, and there are others.
If I'm getting ready to post a long or wordy post, I first formulate it in MS Word with links, check for spelling and grammar, and then copy and paste it into a post here.
It makes for more lucid, error-free posts.
i like what they post here
I do too. I am a pretty active reader here and sometimes it seems like they are the only ones putting out content ro read.
i'm lurking here pretty much everyday for 8-10hrs. great place to find news n i'd say most has been verified 1st. i don't comment much n create posts even less.
Gathering is fine, provided that they are put into a single post.
Well, I can see a good reason for separate posts when the subject matter is different from other posts. Otherwise, the comments would get confusing with people responding to different links and stories. I, for one, don't mind sequential postings, never have.
A few times in the past I have written fairly lengthy posts that also have links, etc. I find that it is better for me to first write the entire thing in Word, as it will flag misspellings and basic grammatical errors, then I can copy-paste the entire thing into a post here. Trying to write "on the fly" only works for me when it's a short comment or reply to an existing post.
Yeh, this is commonly known as "forum sliding"; i.e. you post up a buncha bullshit to slide actual decent content off the radar.
If you see/notice this happening, always report as it's definitely a bot/shill/paid player.
Learn something new every day here. Thanks, fren, will do!
I think most of the power-posters tend to gather all their posts and release them in batches, at least that's the impression I've gotten.
Report anything that doesn't pass the sniff test though. The mods respond quickly in my experience.
Yup. Obviously, being a power poster and being a moderator takes a lot of effort and time.
One thing that would immensely help the board would be if EVERYONE would search for, and not post, already-posted topics. The seemingly endless re-posting of topics tends to bury one-time posts and comments that might be of great value or interest (because few readers are going to read - or even see - ALL posts on a topic) and is a big source of frustration for readers seeking fresh topics.
I agree. So many unique posts get buried by a story, meme, or Tweet getting reposted a dozen times, often by the same few people. It makes me not want to participate as much as I would otherwise.
Safe to say that if something out of the ordinary happens (like Hunter accidentally swallowing his crack pipe,) you know it will already be posted by the time you get here.
Yup.
i've done that (not here) when i get up at 3am n later i space my posts 4-5 min apart. no one has complained yet
It’s turned into a news aggregator which is fine but the problem is with all the MSM posts that are intended to provoke outrage. It just further amplifies the false premise that we are in the minority.
Example: anything transgender related
I believe these posters get their info from telegram groups, that's how they can post so quickly. Post title, link and sometimes text is already provided in those groups so you can just copy paste. I don't think it's malicious but that's how we get a lot of unverified info.
Posting at one minute intervals is ABSOLUTELY possible. Twitter has many problems that are NOT here on GAW.
I collect everything I want to post, and then go on a posting spree. I sometimes make two posts in 1 minute.
I know you’re not talking about ashlandogg that man is a SAINT!
yes, he is the good dog
