the absolute FAVORABLE interpretation of this statement is that Balenciaga isn't a bunch of rampant pedophiles, it's just the people they work with and entrust their brand image are rampant pedophiles injecting pedophilia into their brand.
Guaranteed, if Trump clothing ever got within a mile of this kind of brand damage, those asshat liberals would never let it go.
What always gets me, is... Not a single person in the chain that handled the ads...no marketing director, no photographer, no prepress tech, no Jr executive... Not a single one looked at these images and said, "WTF" or even "Hey, maybe this isn't the best idea..." nobody in a boardroom or office bothered to suggest that featuring BDSM themes with children is sure to "cause controversy", "create a public backlash", or most importantly to a company, "harm the bottom line"...? No one had the brains or balls to point this out?
Okay yeah they're probably evil pedophiles.
But at best - even if I'm being generous - they're a bunch of fucking morons.
Truth is probably somewhere in between those extemes. Bosses with ideas and the e-sheep-like followers in lock-step. You all know the type: their noses are so far up into the boss's rectal cavity that if the boss turns a corner too tight you'll hear an audible snap! as they all simultaneously fracture their necks. Oh, also cowards too scared of offending the boss or not having a paycheck to stand up and proclaim "this ad is a shit sandwich".
Backpedaling furiously, and they apparently expect us to believe they don't review their ads for content prior to releasing them.
