Antioch University Counseling Whistleblower tells of Radical Left-Wing indoctrination and training being forced on Grad students

Hi. My name is Leslie and I would like to share with you my experiences in the clinical mental health counseling program at Antioch University and my concerns that graduates of this program may be unprepared to serve their clients as counselors based on the training that they've received. Counselors are being trained not to remain objective and neutral with their clients but rather to see themselves as agents of social change and to see their clients as opportunities for imprinting extreme Left-Wing views. And I say this as someone who's always considered myself to be socially and politically liberal.
Antioch has almost entirely replaced classical notions of education and psychology with social justice ideology. I'll give you some examples of how that plays out in counselor training. We were taught that our main role as counselors is not in our work with clients, individuals, and families, but rather as activists for social justice! We were taught to assess ourselves and our clients according to something called The ADDRESSING Model. This uses the word ADDRESSING as an acronym with each letter standing for a different demographic category. So, Age & Generation, Developmental Disability, Disability (Acquired), Religion, Ethnicity & Race, Sexual orientation, Socioeconomic status, National Origin & Language, Gender identity, etc.
And, for each of these categories we are to give ourselves either a value of Marginalized or Privileged, and do the same for our clients. And then add these up and see who's ‘more privileged.’ And this teaches you how you're supposed to interact with your client. And, if either of you - if one of you is white and the other is not, then automatically that's the Trump card and so the non-white person is the marginalized person no matter what the other categories say. This sounds absolutely crazy, but this is actually what they are teaching in a graduate level clinical applied psychology program to future counselors!
This is how you are to understand yourself and the person to whom you are speaking. We were taught to broach ‘Race’ early in the clinical relationship - preferably within the first session. And what that means is that no matter what the client is coming in for, [it] could be relationship issues, depression, bereavement - any number of things that a person might come in to see a counselor for – you are to bring that conversation around to ‘Race’. And, if you say you're a black person… I'm supposed to say to you, “How does it feel to you - a black person - to sit with me, a white person as your counselor?” And then, if this doesn't seem like it's a big deal to you and it doesn't seem like race has been playing a big role in the issues that you're facing, I'm supposed to help increase your ‘Racial Identity Salient.’ Which means, making you more aware of how race, white supremacy, and systemic racism has impacted the problems that you're having today! And if you're a white person I'm supposed to help you see how you have been perpetrating ‘White Supremacy’ knowingly and unknowingly against people of color, instead of helping you work on the problems that you are bringing in, [and to] to steer your problems into a racial discussion!
I had a professor at Antioch for a Multicultural Perspectives class which was basically a Social Justice training class, who called white women ’Basic Bitches’, ‘Beckys’ and ‘Nothing Special’ and told us that, “White women's tears have been overvalued.” Antioch also promotes racial segregation among students, frequently inviting us to join either a BIPOC Affinity Group or a White Affinity Group. The White Group used to be called an Accountability Group but they've changed that language - they've softened it a little I guess. They also are promoting language which would change the word ‘Woman’ - replace the word ‘Woman’ with the term ‘AFAB people with vulvas.’ ‘AFAB’ stands for Assigned Female at Birth. So, instead of woman, AFAB people with vulvas!
They promote the concept of the trans-child as well, which means that according to Antioch's teachings, children can know from very early in life that they are transgender and that as a counselor it's your job to ‘affirm and help them on their path to physical alterations of their bodies.’ Not to explore with them what's going on and why they feel the way that they do and help them to become comfortable with their with their physical body without drugs and surgeries. The chancellor of Antioch also sends out frequent emails in response to social current events in politics and culture and these are editorials. [The] most recent one was about renaming Columbus Day to Indigenous People's Day. These emails tell us in really strong language how we are supposed to feel and respond and act in response to these events. There's no attempt at neutrality. There's no attempt at remaining politically objective. These are left-wing political talking points. And it seems to me [it is] so highly inappropriate that this person uses their access to the entire student body’s emails, to spread their political [agenda] far and wide. It's like a bull horn. I've tried - I've responded to these - and I get dismissals.
I have reached out to my faculty advisor about my concerns about the program. I've reached out to the chair of the department. I have filed grievances with the Provost. All of my concerns are being dismissed. Most recently, the Faculty Advisor admitted to me that they are aware that they are not training counselors who are going to be able to work with, in her words, “the Trump supporter.”
So, they [are] turning counseling into a profession that seeks to remake you - the client - into one political ideological form, and pathologize alternative ways of thinking and and socio-cultural political viewpoints. I have almost finished this degree. I only have a few classes left to take and I'm finding myself kind of at a stopping point right now because they've instituted a ‘Civility Pledge’ which is a pledge to social justice ideology. It's a ‘being aware of racism, ableism, heterosexism, etc., etc.,’ and ‘privileged and marginalized identities.’
I cannot sign this pledge. I do not agree with this ideology. I will not sign this pledge, just because they have my Master's Degree held hostage. I hope that people are starting to become aware of just how significant this cultural takeover is. This divisive and hateful ideology. The implications for Mental Health Care for people seeking Mental Health Services, for people going to college, or sending their kids to school are huge. I really hope people will take this seriously and put a stop to this nonsense.
You know what? Her Masters degree WILL NOT be worth the paper it’s printed on! Holy crap that’s indoctrination and weaponized education against ALL RACES. So don’t help the person with the problem, instead victimize them OR EVEN worse victimize the councilor. How do people fall for this shit???? 😡

Decided to dig a bit. Here is their program's website, assuming my Google Fu is strong, she's talking about the MA in Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University in Seattle (that should've been a clue). If you look at their accreditation report, you can see clearly that this woman's telling the truth. They don't make any secret at all that they're all in for the "woke" (Marxist) narrative and they're interested in training activists. The faculty is overwhelmingly white women. A look through their faculty is revealing. If "count the nose-rings" were a drinking game, it'd be fatal.
This is what the behavioral sciences looks like in many universities now.
My theory is that people go into psych fields of study to find answers to their own mental health issues, not to help others find answers to theirs. That explains why most psych professionals are leftists - and leftists ALWAYS have pushing the agenda as their primary concern.
Years ago a friend was graduating with her masters in Psychology. The plan had always been to go on to her PHD. But at graduation she looked around her and realized everyone was crazier than she was. This was not the path to mental health.
She took time off, teaching riding at a famous kids' riding school, where I met her. (Horses are the best therapists! ) She ended up teaching computer science, dealt with her issues, inherited the family farm where her dad had abused her, filled it with horses she bred, and has a healthy marriage.
You're probably right about the reasoning people go into this field, but not all are left-wingers w/selfish intent. My daughter is working on a psych degree because she suffered from anorexia for several years and wants to help kids in the same boat. She's SUPER right-wing and very dedicated to being of service to people for the right reasons. Granted, she might be the needle in the haystack, but I sincerely hope not.

I went into the field because of my own issues and had found some answers so I went back to school to get my master's degree so I could help others. I believe I did help alot of people, at least they told me I did. In my experience, most people really don't understand what therapists do, what their responsibilities are or what we're like. Lots of people think we're crazier than most folks. I would say that is not at all true. I knew a number of very fine individuals who worked in the field and were effective with their clients. It is difficult for alot of people to understand how being raped as a child, for instance, effects your life as an adult in so many ways that many, if not most folks can't even grasp the seriousness of the situation. Sounds like your daughter is coming from a good place and sincerely wants to help others. That is a very good thing! I hope she does well and doesn't have to put up with the idiocy that was inflicted on the poor student who wrote this letter, above. Lastly, kudos to you for raising a child who grew up to have empathy for others and who now wants to help others - you must have done something right!
Thanks so much! Yes, I had a pretty traumatic childhood with my mom and went through heavy duty EMDR therapy for a couple of years myself. Was a lot of prep work with mental constructs and such, but it helped me tremendously. It was very hard but totally worth it.

Just because they want to find out what's wrong with them doesn't mean they don't want to help others. Problem is, lefties are often incapable of helping others and are only good at poisoning the well.
It doesn't mean they aren't wanting to help others either. In my many years of working in the field as a therapist, vast majority of my coworkers wanted sincerely to help their clients. Only a few were too self-centered to do that, but isn't that true of any job?

The acupuncturist noticed when I was having acupuncture and talking about a long past trauma it was affecting all my body as if it was just happening. When I stopped talking about it everything returned to normal.
There is a train of thought that it is better not to keep talking about traumatic incidents ..and I can believe it.
When tests were done on advanced meditation monks ..electrodes on head etc when they played violent films their minds reacted as if it was them the trauma was happening to....which isn't surprising as we are all connected......
Clif high talking about the meta psychosis undergone after death ...the soul has to be cleansed of all the trauma of past experiences so our next life is undergone with no past memories. The more experiences and trauma you had the longer the process takes..this is what people refer to as hell...cleansing the traumas while the rest of you is in "heaven". All you are left with at the end of the process is your knowledge crystallised as intuition which you take with you to your next life.
Interesting that some experiences in a new life seem to trigger the past life...so not sure if lance Percival who Clif got these theories from can be accurate .
From what is happening in repeat cycles people undergo on a conscious or subconscious basis here on earth I can believe this..the process doesn't seem to be limited to after death imo...and just continue.
Makes me wonder if the next life doesn't just carry on the process by being born in circumstances that will allow that pattern to continue if you hadn't been able to resolve/be done with?/finish?/can move on to higher chakras? (hard to find the right word) matters.

I want to point out the most important part of what is going on, which is not that schools are indoctrinating students with this Bolshevik cult garbage, but that these brainwashed students and current mental health professionals are TREATING vulnerable people looking for guidance.
THEY ARE LITERALLY COACHING (BRAINWASHING) SUSEPTIBLE PEOPLE IN NEED OF MENTAL HEALTH GUIDANCE INTO THIS WOKE CULT>
Someone goes to see a counselor to learn skills on how to cope with some part of their life that is troubling them, maybe a car crash, only to be eventually brainwashed into believing that instead of dealing with trauma from the crash, they are being taught to believe the car crash was an act of racism and that racists are causing their trauma.

Two of my cousins are psychologists and are incredibly leftist & mentally ill. It is almost a prerequisite of their field unfortunately.

Someone goes to see a counselor to learn skills on how to cope with some part of their life that is troubling them, maybe a car crash, only to be eventually brainwashed into believing that instead of dealing with trauma from the crash, they are being taught to believe the car crash was an act of racism and that racists are causing their trauma.
