I'm thinking he's been bought by the DS, as evidenced by his soon-to-be-released book (which seem to be a money laundering process), canceling his assistance to Zeldin after meeting with a rich donor, and some other things I've read, but can't remember at this point.
Also he's a former member of Congress, and I don't know if one can do that without being compromised.
That's the only thing that makes sense. Bought or blackmailed.
He has the political sense to know not to support Disney so he's doing it against his better judgement for an undisclosed reason.
Looks like Disney is going to be buying a lot of books....
