Thanking the Lord for everything before I eat and blessing Him after I am done is the best diet advice I could offer. After all man does not live by bread alone.
Research everything before you start making any changes. That being said, I like this list. It includes everything I was going to list, plus a few extra things, that I am now going to research.
Pay attention to the different types of niacin. Some forms can have adverse affects if taken regularly, in larger doses. The form I use, has the potentially undesirable side affect of “flushing” and is potentially scary if not expected. I believe it opens the capillaries, and brings more blood closer to the surface of the skin. The flush, IMHO, is not that bad. Feels/looks like a mild sunburn for an hour or so. I once had a neighbor, go to the emergency room after taking niacin, thinking she was having an allergic reaction.
In addition, as many people have suggested, eat clean, unprocessed foods that contain additional benefits, like fiber. Stay physically active. Learn about fasting.
NIACIN!! The ONE vitamin/mineral/supplement that I know is actually doing something. I take it for the "flush" a few times per week to deliver to nourish and cleanse everything everywhere.
And psyllium husk fiber added to my detox drink to cleanse my intestines along with some aloe vera juice.
There are no cheat sheets...I have an entire library of reference books. I probably use 15-20 alternative therapies and I have researched each discipline extensively, so that I knew how to properly use each discipline in a safe, effective manner. I have been doing this for over 50 years.
I started reading Adele Davis early on and my initial foray into alternative health was mega-vitamin therapy and herbs. I also started collecting home/folk remedies that I utilized on the 5 kids I raised. I have used chiropractic most of my life and recently did some acupuncture. I took a Touch for Health class that allowed me to incorporate accupressure point therapy and I added homeopathics and foot reflexology about this time. We made our own homeopathics and I eventually added the complete Bach Flower Remedies to my "medicine" chest.
I have used massage, make my own colloidal silver, magnets, EFT, organite, zapper, ear candles, ozone therapy and about 6 years ago got into essential oils, which I use extensively. I am sure I am missing some...but the only drug item I take is ivermectin. I have a vitamin/mineral/herb routine I do daily and I feel pretty prepared to treat just about anything. We have treated bi-polar, schizophrenia, Lyme disease, depression, burns, and all the common and uncommon stuff a family gets, using alternative methods. My family is now grown and they are not in perfect health but we generally steer clear of drugs...except one nurse practioner daughter-in-law.
It is a huge undertaking to learn all this at once but over a span of time, if you can master one thing at a time you end up with a great library and lots of knowledge and the assurance that you can deal with anything that comes your way. Good luck on your journey that starts with one step at a time.
Amen! Wow 50 years of natural medicine! That’s wonderful. I wish I had been introduced sooner. Could have saved me too many years of prescription medication for pain. Thankfully I stumbled across good information and I’m off the medication.
I’d love to know some of your favorite books. I’m trying to build a herbal medicine and essential oil reference library.
Quercetin, Vitamin D3, Vitamin K2 (important in regulating where calcium gets deposited, teeth and bones instead of arteries), Vitamin C, Zinc, trace minerals, and liquid multivitamin and multimineral MaryRuth). Intermittent fast and walk. Take Ivermectin weekly. Never get sick. No meds. Age 70.
I love intermittent fasting. I eat in an 8 hour window and drink mostly water throughout the rest of the day (filtered). I only drink herbal tea, coffee and some milk/cream. That leaves 16 hours for the body to rest and repair itself. I only eat 2 meals a day and I really like eating less food. I only use virgin coconut oil and butter for fats. I am 71 and I also take Ivermectin (at least) weekly. I think one of the best improvements in the last 5 years was checking my vitamin D levels. Started out below 30 and now run in the 60's by taking 10,000 IU's per day. I also take Super K. Everything runs better with D/K. It's nice to be older without falling apart at the seams. I rarely get sick and if I do I can eradicate it pretty quickly. Best of health to you in the New Year.
I follow a very similar regimen, except I take sulforaphane instead of ivermectin.
I have taken ivermectin on a few occasions when I felt like I might be catching a cold or flu, and woke up the next day feeling fine, but I don't take it regularly.
Supplements is a ridiculously complicated topic. I'd recommend reading "The Perfect Health Diet" by Paul Jaminet. It has a section on supplements and breaks down what you need and why, which foods they are found in, and which vitamins/minerals work hand in hand (for example, if you are low on magnesium, your vitamin D supplement won't be absorbed by your body). From there, you can figure out, based on your own diet, what you need to supplement.
Adopt carnivore lifestyle - eat as you evolved to live and eat.
Eat meat. Animal diet. Salt, water and maybe a few electrolytes like potassium and magnesium. Maybe iodine and selenium.
Most vitamin and other supplements are completely unneeded if you eat what your body evolved to eat.
Watch a few videos of Dr. Anthony Chaffee on YT, He's a neurosurgeon.
Suplements are a big and growing industry. They are only able to sell so many because thay have induced a large portion of the world to eat a dumb diet.
When did humans begin to eat plants? Maybe 10 or 12 thousand years ago.
Prior to that our diet was almost all animal based and we didn't take any vitamins. Our health was excellent in an excigent environment.
How long did it take for our digestive apparatus to evolve? Couple of million years or so. Meat is what took us quickly from hominids to homo sapiens.
If you’re going to supplement, remember this: toxicity creates deficiencies. Supplementing with nutritionals like vitamins/minerals/essential fats/amino acids will help you feel better, but will not guarantee you ever resolve the root cause of your problems or successfully detoxify the root cause toxins deeply embedded in your tissues.
It’s better to look into opening drainage pathways with cholagogues and active carbon binders. Look into Cellcore biosciences. It will make sense of all the natural/functional/alternative health info everyone is desperately throwing around to try and heal.
You will learn more from their resources alone than you’ve learned in the past 2-3 years. It’s that good and life changing. Don’t take my word for it. Dig into the info they provide.
Crying helps boat loads for sinuses, it ain't pretty but it works. Try happy crying, though. No sense being depressed while you are down. Bee pollen helps to prevent sinus issues too.
I occasionally eat healthy. Not a lot of junk food all the time but rarely what would be considered a complete meal. Often eat only one meal a day, but will eat if I feel hungry. Try to make most of my food and snacks myself, fail often. The food comes out fine but I do still eat pre-made from time to time. Gas station food is my weakness. I do consume a lot of eggs and beans, those are supposed to be good for a lot of nutrients, so I do not feel like I need to supplement, don't want too much. Fresh fruit is a must! So good! Salads, like startling large salads when I am in a salad mood. Tons of delicious veggies and italian dressing.
I take a woman's multivitamin from Dr. Fuhrman (contains no isolated carotenoids). Also a clean plant-based omega 3 supplement. Occasionally some extra zinc and D3.
The omega 3 is for neurological health late in life.
Extra zinc and D3 to help fight any viruses coming my way.
I have two wooden boxes filled with essential oils, some carrier oils for blending (coconut, sunflower, avocado, etc). Essential oils need to be blended with carrier oils because most essential oils are considered hot oils, meaning they will burn you if not mixed with carrier oils. I use Frankincense for face, great skin/wrinkles. Also use frankincense for pain. I buy CBD essential oil blends from Plant Therapy. Their CBD Headache blend is the only thing I’ve found for headaches. (Headache blend recipes probably online), CBD sleep blend is good.
Many essential oils are good for pain, colds, depression etc. I mainly use herbs for health because many essential oils are toxic to dogs (and cats), babies and toddlers. I have a grand dog & soon a grandchild. I don’t use oils around the dog.
I drink herbal tea, use herbal tea and plant based herbal salves. You can make tinctures and herbal salves or purchase from small businesses.
I’ll list what I have available. Some I use daily and others when needed. Most herbs and essential oils have multiple uses. I suggest getting some good books and there is good info online.
St John’s Wort tincture: I’ve taken a year. I take it for nerve pain, herpes (fever blisters and sun poisoning) preventive and mood. I recently stopped for a month because I started a new herb. Easier to discover if herb is working. Found out just how good St. John’s works! My nerve pain hit with a vengeance!
I’ve been taking Tribe Organics Moringa for a month. (Multiple benefits) in a week I was sleeping better. Had IBS about 25 years (from one extreme to the other). In a week I’m like a new person! It’s the only thing that’s stopped IBS, I’m regular everyday. (It’s a detox so start slowly. I took three weeks to get to max dosage.
I keep the following tinctures on hand for colds, stomach, etc.
Mullien (respiratory), Yarrow (fever & colds) also dried Yarrow will clot blood good for minor cuts, Hawthorn (heart & BP), Usnea: (old man’s beard) infection and/or UTI, Licorice (digestive problems, menopausal symptoms, cough, and bacterial and viral infections), Lions Mane (protect against dementia, reduce mild symptoms of anxiety and depression and help repair nerve damage) I started taking for nerve pain.
I have a lot of antiviral herbal tinctures because it’s easier for me to take in water than a bunch of pills. I might take multiple antivirals if I’ve been around someone that’s sick. On a daily basis I don’t take every herb I’ve listed.
I keep a large variety of herbal tea for health benefits and prevention but mostly because I only drink water or herbal tea.
Hibiscus and Rose Hips are high in Vitamin C.
Nettle has several vitamins. I mix Nettle tea with hibiscus and rose hips (natural healthy red kool aid)
Green Tea (gunpowder my favorite) I’ve been drinking about ten years. Saw on NC State University a study by a plant organization listed Green Tea and grape vitamin (Don’t remember official name) prevents Covid.
Actually any herb considered an antiviral is good for preventing Covid, cold flu etc.
Apple cider vinegar (with the mother) is great cold preventative and multiple body benefits. I keep vinegar, ginger and honey blend in fridge take most days. Brand I use is Vermont Village. It’s in the grocery store.
From October till April I take Elderberry syrup or extract. Try to keep it year round in case of exposure. Elderberry is great for cold/virus prevention and taken during sickness helps to get over quicker. Also good for pain. I’m slack about taking this and vinegar daily.
I have multiple herbal plant salves for skin and pain. I don’t make them but could. I buy from small shops on Etsy. I’ve also started buying herbal tinctures from small shops (herbalist) that forage or grow the herbs. I can make all this but prefer to purchase. It takes a lot of time to research and find reliable shops/people.
I highly recommend any mushroom or combination of them. Chaga is a great tea and sorta like a multi vitamin.
I listed everything I can think of with out going to see everything I have.
Plant Therapy and Eden’s Garden is a good place to shop for essential oils and learn. I’m starting to buy oils from small businesses.
Herb Pharm is good resource for herbal tinctures if you don’t have small business resources.
Mountain Rose Herbs is a very trusted place for herbs, tea, essential oils, etc. To get free shipping have to buy a lot. Also good information on the blog.
If I think of more I’ll reply tomorrow.
I keep vit D3, C & Zinc but have stopped taking daily because it’s very expensive and I don’t want to take pills every day.
Magnesium supplements are great (about 5 types of magnesium and each one does something different for body) I don’t take regular bc it gives me diarrhea. I’ll take one if I have headache.
I have a lot to say in reply, but your thread is so long it is hard to isolate the points...I will do my best. First of all you use a carrier oil to "carry" and the oil into the tissues, not necessarily because an oil is hot, but it can decrease any sensitivity from hot oils. EO's have a very fast evaporation rate and by utilizing a carrier oil, it give more time to absorb into the skin. Thick skin...soles of feet, thin skin...behind your ears. Hot oils can be used on the feet undiluted. Tip...if you ever get a hot oil in the eye...use olive oil to dilute and flush...not water (experienced).
Plant Therapy is a good company...Robert Tisserand consults and makes up their blends. He wrote the essential book on EO Safety and is an authority in his field. His books are very good...try to find used. I have several of his books. Plant Therapy is a good solid company with reasonable prices.
EO's are not necessarily toxic to children or pets. Again, knowledge is the key here. You don't have to be afraid to diffuse or use EO's around animals. Animals and children can benefit greatly from EO's. The key is Knowledge. Respecting the oils and knowledge of safety is key to using oils. I recommend the book "Knowledge Based Essential Oil Therapy by Dr. Scott Johnson. It is a very pricey book, but it is worth its' weight in gold. He has a chapter on which oils can be used safely in pregnancy, labor and childbirth and another chapter on which oils are safe for infants and children...with charts on dilution rates and which oils can be used. Another chapter lists medical conditions. I utilize his recommendations for taking oils internally. I use Young Living and only use excellent companies to take something internally, but I have found that to be very effective. This is my EO #1 book. There are books on treating animals with EO's. Diffusing is perfectly safe around animals. I use homeopathics more with my animals, The second reference book for oils is "The Reference Guide for Using Essential Oils" by Connie and Alan Higley. It is similar to Young Living's reference book, but is jam packed with information. I also use some books like Essential Oils for a Clean and Healthy Home by Kasey Schwartz, Aromatherapy Blends and Remedies by Franzesca Watson and Aromatherapy by Valerie Gennari Cooksley, R.N. I use the spa bath recipe because water and a wet skin help to absorb EO's. Good all round info in these books.
Next...I LOVE St. John's Wort...very useful in depression, from experience. Next I want to address the herpes/sun poisoning you mentioned. ..have dealt with both. First of all check your Vitamin D levels. The D needs to be in the 60 range and if you take Vitamin D and K, it will tremendously help every aspect of your health and especially these two issues. I highly recommend that you take D/K daily. I am allergic to the sun (it is a thing) and I can break out from the sun, but when my Vitamin D levels are in the high range it decreases my sensitivity to the sun. Melissa is the EO that zaps herpes immediately. It is pricey, but worth it to have it on hand. A drop applied to a fever blister and it just doesn't develop. All your recommendations for herbs sound great...my favorite old herb books and reference books were by Michael Murray N.D. He wrote the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine and The Healing Power of Herbs. Both of those books can be bought used. There are many other great authors that are more current, but I loved Dr. Murray.
I will recommend some places to buy quality oils. The first is Tropical Traditions. This is where I buy my organic virgin coconut oil that is processed in the traditional way from the Philippines. They carry Florihana Oils that are processed in France. I like Mountain Rose...good supplier. Also, Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt runs the Pacific Institue of Aromatherapy. He has a Ph.D in Chemistry and is a renowned aromatherapist. He successfully recommended Caulophyllum and Ravinstara in the successful treatment of shingles which I utilized on my husband. He has written several great books and his institute carries a line of EO's and they are very good oils. Some that are harder to find elsewhere. He is quite amazing. The Institute has classes and TONS of useful info. To tell you the truth, I use a lot of NOW oils. They have their own in-house testing lab and I feel like they are a very responsible, reputable company. I like to diffuse these, and I also buy oils that I will use topically. I use coconut oil as a base to make most of my salve blends from oils. It works well. I also give my animals coconut oil in a dish, and it helps their fur/skin.
Okay...that's about it...didn't mean to write a book, but i get really excited to talk about things that I am passionate about. You sound very knowledgeable, and I hope you are able to utilize some of the books and/or suggestions. God bless you and yours and I hope you find some things that will help you go forward in your natural healing journey.
I take Magnesium every night at bedtime . Plant based Calcium & C every day for my teeth and bones and avoid sugar. Brewers yeast or B complex a few times a week bcz a deficiency gave me panic attacks. Probiotic occasionally for digestion. Turmeric tea 3x day.
I should take MSM every day for my shoulder but I forget when it doesn't remind me. Rx for Nutritional Health is my second Bible. I also read Adele Davis when I had my kids. big help.
Aunt Effie's cough tonic: 2 T hot water, 1 T honey, 1 T vinegar, 1/4 t cayenne pepper, 1/4 t ginger. Take a spoonful when needed. It's also good for sore throat and post nasal drip.
Fix the diet - real butter (natural fats) for cooking along with lots of iodized salt, and basic spices or self-made seasoning and sauces (to avoid artificial and ‘natural flavor’). And lots of bright orange yolk eggs.
Detox - Ivermectin 6 day protocol for 6 weeks (one week on one week off, 3 tubes total; to kill full cycle of parasites and parasite egg laying cycle). Oil of Oregano + NAC + black cumin seed oil; double dose daily for 2 weeks, then regular dose daily to get rid of all fungal infections both external and internal and keep them at bay. [Avoid pork and shrimp to reduce parasitic infections or do full ivermectin protocol once every 3 months, min]
Preventative - Combat Spike proteins and shedding -> daily NAC, vitD, liposomal C; and if you start to feel ill at all take zinc ionophore green tea extract + zinc to inject zinc directly into cells so it will directly destroy the polymerase replication enzyme (this is literally the cure for common cold and usually works in 2-4 hours).
NAC boosts glutothione production which helps breakdown nonorganic toxins (microplastics, graphene oxide, glyphosate) in one’s system. I suspect my success with NAC was because I had lots of microplastic and glyphosate buildup in my body.
I used tumeric tea daily to help purge heavy metals and other toxins. Spirulina plus cilantro daily for 6 weeks should pull all heavy metals like aluminum, etc out of your brain and tissue (most commonly from childhood vaccines) and improve cognitive function.
Happy Eggs is one brand. You can look up packaging. Usually they are “free range” as it is the better diet of chickens allowed to naturally forage and not just fed grain in pens that increases the nutritional value. Sometimes free range + organic. Some advertised as free range are not orange yolks. Most truly good ones will say “orange yolk” somewhere on package. You may have to try a few before you hit the jackpot.
The color will depend on what the chicken ate, so there are variants of "free range" that will depend on the actual pasture/land used. Some farms are better than others- try a few.
Note that even eggs gotten straight from a based, natural farmer may not actually be pastured. A big flock of chickens is an amazingly tasty sight for eagles and hawks, so the farmer needs rolling pasture cages (a big doghouse, basically, that is moved around the pasture as they eat) - a bit of a specialty unless the farm raises eggs professionally.
For men over 30, especially if you are overweight or feeling tired/have low T- Fadogia Agrestis and Tongkat Ali. These natural supplements act like precursors, and tell your body to produce more testosterone naturally rather than relying on TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) which kills your bodies natural T production over time and makes you dependent on outside T.
I have struggled with my weight my entire life (early childhood antibiotic use killed my metabolism). Currently I am 6' and 255. Before taking these supplements I was tired and moody. Three months of these, and I am starting to feel better- more energy, drive and less moody. No side effects for me, other than acne on back and shoulders. I'll take that trade off any day.
Side note- As a kid, we didnt have health insurance because Dad was self employed. One winter he got real sick with Pneumonia (he has had asthma his whole life) and fever. He booked an appointment with a Chinese herbalist Doctor. Doctor examined him, and gave him a packet of herbal tea to make and drink. We went home, and the brew stunk up the whole house- the stuff smelled incredibly vile. Dad drank the tea- he coukd barely manage it because apparently it tasted worse than it smelled. The next day, he woke up feeling better, and in 2-3 days was pretty mucb well again. That experience always stuck with me- I dont know of anything a western Dr has ever prescribed anyone I know that got them better that fast.
Learning natural medicine is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and family. Have every noticed the disclaimer on website that give information on vitamins, supplements, herbs, etc? They all say ask your doctor before starting. Sadly in America the doctors are not taught about natural medicine or supplements in medical school. I’ve had one doctor in my life tell me about herbs, probably because she’s from India. The rest don’t have a clue. Their job is to prescribe medication which is a bandaid. Prescriptions don’t cure! There are natural medicine experts but because of big pharma, government and insurance they aren’t covered by medical insurance. First visit starts at $500.00. So the experts I consult are certified/trained herbalists and aromatherapist online or books. We are In this mess because of the broken medical system.
(It’s always a great idea to research drug interactions and side effects when trying new herbs)
Thanks for this...I think we have discussed frequency of taking Ivermectin and this could be one of the many reasons I feel comfortable taking Ivermectin no less than 2 times a week. Thanks for the tip on researching it...
I am in total agreement...I think it works so well is because parasites are foundational to all cancers and disease per Hulda Clark and her writings. I did not see where someone gave their wife a toxic dose...yikes...I just really know what makes me feel good. I would not hesitate to do it daily when the need arises, but 2X /week is my ideal.
My county raises one million dollars on their cancer walk yearly...my sister died of breast cancer in '92, and I have never donated one red cent to this bottomless pit of "find the cure"...especially when we have had it all along and people have lost their lives to be silenced. I agree with you...and still no cure??????????
Thanking the Lord for everything before I eat and blessing Him after I am done is the best diet advice I could offer. After all man does not live by bread alone.
NAC, D3-K2, Magnesium, Shijalit (minerals), CoQ10, Liposomal C, Multi-B, Niacin, Nattokinase, Serrapeptase, Boron, Iodine Drops, Omega 3
Detox- Bentonite Clay, Zeolite, Diatomaceous Earth, Activated Charcoal
occasional Melatonin
No prescriptions, No alcohol, No Tobacco, No Weed, Nicotine lozenges, occasional Ibuprofen
Chiropractic tune up monthly, Daily meditation, Simple Yoga and Exercise 3-4 times per week. Regular and infra-red saunas 3-4 times per week
I'm 68 years old. 10 years younger than I was 10 years ago if you can figure out what I mean by that..

I'll give you some titles tomorrow..I do have my favorites...I am all snuggled up warmly in my bed at the present...
I use Rife Frequencies every day. Look up Royal Rife and the frequencies are on YT.
No drugs. No supplements. Just fesh air, real food, sunshine and exercise. I'm the healthiest person I know, and it costs nothing.
Bedtime: Magnesium, D3, Melatonin. Morning: ibuprofen, homemade cold brew coffee.
Magnesium and D3 are the only ones I would recommend. The others are just personal preference.
No meds. Age 70.

The last few times I tried a carnivore diet, I got the worst fucking sinus headaches.
Then I ate a salad.
I could actually FEEL the swelling go down and the mucus draining.
Never. Fucking. Again.

Dr. Mercola :)
Peppermint essential oil with chlorophyll drops in my water each day. Vit c, d and zinc every night before bed
I get all my supplements from pipingrock.com. Check out their “crazy deals” and bogo’s.
I take a woman's multivitamin from Dr. Fuhrman (contains no isolated carotenoids). Also a clean plant-based omega 3 supplement. Occasionally some extra zinc and D3.

Extra zinc and D3 to help fight any viruses coming my way.

I mix Nettle tea with hibiscus and rose hips (natural healthy red kool aid) Green Tea (gunpowder my favorite) I’ve been drinking about ten years.
Any recommendation for fatty liver and gallstone?
3 Parts:
Good suggestions...I have had such positive results adding NAC to my regimen.
What's the secret for finding bright-orange yolks? Besides a farm. Anyway to determine what to buy in a grocery store?
Happy Eggs is one brand. You can look up packaging. Usually they are “free range” as it is the better diet of chickens allowed to naturally forage and not just fed grain in pens that increases the nutritional value. Sometimes free range + organic. Some advertised as free range are not orange yolks. Most truly good ones will say “orange yolk” somewhere on package. You may have to try a few before you hit the jackpot.
Free-range. Period.
Black Maca Root - energy, Lions Mane - focus, immunity, D3, Zinc, K, NAC or Quercetin (every other day, Occasional Zeolite - detox, Occasional Cubensis (<1gm G.Teacher.) - helps artist's block, L-glutamine & catsclaw - digestion, and some Iver' Elderberry B12 and C...and lots of prayer.
A good diet will supply you with all the vitamins and minerals you need. A nutritionist is a good start in learning how to eat for good health.
it is probably a good idea to contact an expert on this
Learning natural medicine is one of the best things we can do for ourselves and family.
Your high blood pressure? It does that? How does that work?
