Sounds awesome. I've always liked Gibson's films.
I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THIS!
The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus is THE center point of ALL history! Not enough scripture to make a movie? There's SO much there - the entire Bible is about Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. Sure, its a movie - bums on seats. Jesus goes to hell? absolutely! that should do the trick. Mel isn't a newbie. He's proven, and a movie about hell in these godless/lawless times ...wouldn't surprise me if this is divine.
With today's special effects, I'm excited. If this turns out anywhere near the passion (as far as visuals are concerned) this might be Mel's best yet. I'm already intrigued if he'll revisit Jesus death on the cross from the passion and take it from there ...
What a start to a movie.
I’m glad he’s covering the Resurrection of Christ! Was disappointed that his first movie didn’t get there. Is anyone watching The Chosen? Series about Jesus and the disciples just now releasing their 3rd season episodes. It’s amazing!!
Interesting, but is there much in The Bible about Jesus' time below? Just want to be sure this is Biblically accurate. I don't know the answer.
No, there is not. Not enough to make a short story, let alone an entire movie. I'm not a fan of this direction they're going, tbh
Jesus will probably walk around and see all the Democrats then lift off up on outa there.
We have much in common on this one fren!
Yeh this is one of the most over pontificated subjects in scripture. As a pastor, I’m weary of this because there just isn’t enough scripture to make a movie about the subject. Most preachers add to scripture and try to make it say things that just are not there. It only tells us he went into the belly of the earth. Nothing more. Anyone trying to say what he did while there is just speculating. Period. I do love Mel and his films and passion was spectacular, but I’m gonna be careful what I let me mind believe on this one.
thanks for your incite. I guess treat this like the CS Lewis book, "The Great Divorce", he states that it is not Biblical and the story of this "purgatory" was just his way to show some sinfulness that we don't consider at times.
And hopefully their focus will be the reason He descended into the pit of hell - to redeem us, and they will follow through with His victorious Resurrection!!
Wowsers!! The Harrowing of Hell on the cinema screen?
I did hear that there was going to be a "Ghostbusters in Hell" film but it was shelved, this would be worth seeing.
It be nice if they release Caviezel's last film The Sound of Freedom too.
Family Guy prediction…..
