There was no one there. I immediately prayed and asked God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit to come in, just in case thats what it was.
So, I rewound the audio Bible. No knocks there, either. It was Numbers.
Then I found this while looking up "Bible two knocks"
Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
I haven't gotten that far in the Bible yet! I may have heard that verse before but never ruminated on it.
It was a profound experience for me, wanted to share and ask you guys if you'd experienced anything like this.
Apologies for my absence, by the way. I've taken a break to work on myself and to try to find/strengthen my faith.
The Bible is not mystical. God does not visit people, nor does Jesus, nor does the Holy Spirit. However once a person believes, the Holy Spirit dwells in the believer, and Jesus is with us until the ‘end of the age’.
God speaks to believers through His word.
I have to say I believe God and angels sometimes do visit us. I'm not over zealous with religion as I think man has corrupted the Bible, but I do believe there is a higher power that guides us all if we simply stop and listen.
This. I know God is there- He literally stepped into my heart one day and took me back. I pray for discernment because I think you’re right- the Bible has been corrupted but I don’t know to what length. By accident due to poor translations? Or intentionally to hide some truths from us? I believe a combination of both. But I know God is true, and I rely upon Him.
The Bible HAS NOT BEEN CORRUPTED....Some versions water things down...Like the NIV does. However ALL of the original source materials used are still available. This is an excuse to avoid reading it altogether.
Timelines and chronology in the Bible have been altered by early translators to cast doubt but to those that are faithful it means little. Nothing doctrinally has been changed.
