You can be controlled via propane deliveries-shortage of propane, rising costs. The only way to be independent is if you have your own gas well on your property, and your own water well or cistern. Even then you need electricity to pump it into your house.

A gas well? Apparently earth ships are really good at holding in heat in the winter. And as for a well, there's also the hold iron hand pumps.
Make methane from dung.
