She must have been over the target about something to have triggered such a reactionary, punitive response.

Perhaps if they can't take the heat/exposure for what they said and did, and feel the need to punish those who expose them, they shouldn't have said what they said or did what they did.

Try as they might, NCSWIC. And, along with that, (in one sense or another) "they won't be able to walk the streets".
