my daughter was a student at gwu and students in a classroom on an upper floor saw what they described as a “plane” as it hit the pentagon. who knows what it was but if not a plane, what ?

You're watching a Hollywood movie. Haven't you ever seen a movie that shows something happening that really didn't. I'm sure the Poseidon really rolled over. I'm sure Airport 77 really showed a plane on the ocean floor. Stunts are done in every movie that didn't actually happen.
