I don't see how it can be legal to file [frivolous] lawsuits based on products being abused against gun manufacturers, but not against pharmaceutical corporations for damages caused by people abusing their products. How is such a legal double standard allowed by the supreme court?

This concept, if it is truly implemented/becomes the norm, is the end of Free Enterprise. There is no product you can make and sell that could not be in some way used to hurt someone else/you. It's completely retarded.
Agreed. Lawsuits filed against gun manufactures that allege wrongdoing based on consumer abuse of their products needs to end, forever.
Abuse yes, but even use. The manufacturer does not and should not mandate how a product should be used, and in no case should be held liable for the use of its product by a consumer. A firearm can shoot paper, a squirrel, Grandma, and everything in between. Because it is a multi-purpose tool (or at least its use can have multiple effects), the operator of the firearm is responsible for every bullet that leaves the barrel, and its outcome. Not the producer of the firearm. It is within the normal operation of a firearm to kill a human being. Whether that is a lawful act is up to the law and the operator.
By this same logic, if a driver kills a person, the auto maker would be sued (and would lose!!!).
This is just about destroying choice, disarmament, and lawfare.

'The SCOTUS, makes NO money, from Gun Manufacturers, but are paid millions,(bribes) from Big Pharma,....simple answer,.the SCOTUS,.is Corrupt,..!
The gun grabbers will tell you, without a hint of irony in their voice, that all those other things have legitimate purposes in society.
We don't have a justice system. It's obscure legalities, loopholes, lawyers speaking legalese to keep themselves relevant, and always a battle to WIN. Not for justice to prevail. Lawyers don't care about justice, and too many judges honor that disregard.
Or cars, or knives, or baseball bats....
Exactly, If a gun manufacturer was ever found liable, then I say Flood the Zone with class action suits against car manufacturers, knife manufacturers, baseball bat manufacturers, and anything else that's ever contributed to an untimely demise.
Gm, FORD, Honda etc. are all responsible for the 38,000 deaths in cars every year. Close them all.
