It was a British show from the '60s about a spy who suddenly retires, then is abducted and sent to an island he can't escape from, to try and find out why he retired. It starred Patrick McGoohan. Anytime someone would try to escape, the captors would activate the security system, which was a big white balloon that would pop up out of the lake/ocean, and run them down. Pretty good for its time, even though it's a bit campy. I think Fox tried to remake it in the '90s with Jim Caveizel, but I never watched that one.
