The people need to take back control of their world.
Why do we have train wrecks and it takes WEEKS to find out what we have been exposed to... they have INSTANT access to what is on / in EACH AND EVERY FUCKING CAR in the train.

And they slide through your town, in the middle of the night. I’ve heard 4am trains come through and never sound a horn.
They also “couple” cars OUT OF COMPLIANCE so there are some very nasty neighbors (tankers) riding side by side. You can look it up easy, hazmat placard with a number on it, DOT legend of markings. Go census a train that goes through your town. You’ll be sick!
Where do you send the line if moved away from towns and suburban areas? Across our farmland?
Probably time to rid society of this dinosaur of the RR mega monopoly and live/consume closer to home. Turn railroads into roads dedicated to truckers?
Turning railroads into dedicated truck routes makes no sense. Trains may derail somewhat often but trucks are a much worse and more dangerous way to do it. Also everything you consume will jump in price, rapidly.
Funny how Warren Buffet, Blackrock and Vanguard are so invested in RRs.
Political support for crushing your competitors--like the Keystone pipeline-- should be a crime. You can get sued for bad-mouthing your competitors, but hiring government officials through campaign contributions (or w/ Buffet, support for their other objectives, like Obamacare) to destroy those competitors is still legal?
And they'll get away with it. The only controversy this will stir up is a renewed fight in Congress about regulating RRs. And everybody on both sides gets paid by the various interest groups for having it.
The root of the problem is the railroad companies law and land, in many cases preceeded states. Railroad law was written to encourage development in the 1800 toward the west. Large railroads own continuous property accross the country crossing state, county and city lands. Railroad crossings are owned by the railroads and all others yield to trains. Law is written to favor railroads not people, cities or towns.
We all unwittingly sacrificed our "rights" long ago, thanks to the cunning use of words used in all our LEGAL, but not "lawful", documents.
The moment we agreed we were a "U.S. Citizen" -> drivers license, social security, bank account, passport, etc., was the moment we agreed to surrender our natural, universal, God-given "rights" in return for "privileges and benefits" provided to us by our benevolent overlords.
This is how it all starts...
This has been a fact of life for about 150 years. You are now waking up to it? The question has already been considered, long ago, with cargo safety markings coded per hazard entailed. Regulated by the Interstate Commerce Commission and monitored by the Department of Transportation.
