Good for you. I enjoy so many of the popular song reaction channels on YouTube. Not saying there isn't any good music today, but most of the reactors are my kids age and they almost always say something like "I wish we had music like this today ..." when reacting to 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s (even sometimes 50s).
A lot of positive energy in the comments on those channels. Cabal wouldn't like that. People getting along just fine without regard to race, gender, age. I really enjoy it.
Yes, have noticed the same trend as well! Not saying I hate everything modern but 98% of it just doesn’t click with me. Of course the mainstream stuff is trash but a lot of the indie stuff sounds the same/boring and even most of the metal out the seems samey as well. IMO, people had similar sounds in the past but still enough originality where you could tell who it was. Rather than seeking out new music I’ve been able to take a Time Machine and discover all different sorts of bands and genres that are either overlooked or forgotten now. One thing I long for is the way some music really connected folks, and it feels like that’s missing these days. Check out John Farham’s You’re the Voice from the classic jack live show in the late 80s and you’ll see what I mean.
If Pat Benatar was the first thing that popped into your mind, you’re over 45
Not true, I’m younger but just have better taste than my peers ;)
