I dunno, especially after that tactic didn't work for them in 2016. Remember they pushed him to be the nomination thinking he was a joke and would be the easiest candidate to not only defeat but humiliate. And that was a big fat boomerang to their jugulars.

If they could have chosen who got the nomination they would have got Jeb! The whole 'plan to get Trump the nomination' was bullshit and was used as an excuse to not have to explain the actual reason Clinton lost.
