To the OP, I highly doubt they'd wrap a plane, although I guess I could be wrong.

I would think that, if it starts to peel, then huge sections could come off in the windstream that could either get sucked into the engines or could foul up the control surfaces by getting jammed into the mechanisms. I'd be surprised if the FAA even allowed big labels unless they were certified with special adhesive.

But I'm not in the industry so I don't really know.
