The French rioting over something unpopular their Government did is essentially a National Pastime for them at this point.
Anybody know a translation of the song the people are singing?
'La ficelle est un peu trop grosse' -- literally, 'the string is too thick'. It describes a subterfuge that is doomed to fail, because the disguise is too obvious.
The other interpretation is -- 'Come and arrest me. I have lit a circus flare to sing and dance to.' π π
I hope they donβt stop the flow of groceries to the presidential palace. That would be horrible.
"Pissed off"? Singing and dancing with carnival flares doesn't seem to be anything more than a flash mob saying -- 'Come and arrest us'.
No, being pissed off would be the crowd getting their hands on Macron, and his accomplices, and dragging them out into the streets for ending their reign of tyranny.
