A Czechoslovakian-made fighter jet crashed on a ranch just northwest of Mertzon.

Reportedly privately owned. Some sources report either poor maintenance or a spontaneous part failure forcing the pilot into an emergency landing.

Some sources indicate surveillance equipment and cameras were attached to it initially. Though those were reportedly seized and removed. Verdict is out on who though. Some report Sheriffs Deputies. Others report stereotypical Fed Boi MIB in Blacked Out Suburbans.
