In Texas the governor can’t directly issue a pardon. There’s a review board and if they recommend a pardon the governor can then approve or deny the recommendation so he can’t act until the review board does.
The governor has already started the process of getting permission to pardon him. Texas is weird. There is a committee that has to approve it and I believe that they are certain to do so. I can't believe that they found a jury that would convict him in Texas. I'd say his defense team is the worst I've ever heard of. Jury selection is certainly not their strong suit to say the least.
The Texas AG should do a full legal investigation and review of the entire case. Deep dive into the Judge, the prosecution and the chain of evidence. Any and all malfeasance and ethics violations should be uncovered and exposed. I have no doubt that the defense will appeal to a higher court, but this is pure nonsense. There shouldn't have to be new laws to cover self defense from an armed mob. Self defense should be self evident and protect from unlawful prosecution.
Why do citizens not have the same standards of self protection as law enforcement?
We do, we also have a corrupt "justice"(just us) system.
We've got a long hard road to get this country back.
In this case Abbott should step in and issue a pardon as fast as possible.
Didnt Abbott say he was going to pardon this guy?

Its how unironic communism progresses- begin to charge/punish victims over perpetrators. Thats been going on in america for quite a few decades now.
If I was a decent, honest, law-supporting prosecutor anywhere in this country, stuff like this would have me terrified.
