While making dinner a thought came to me. Wasnt long ago they got rid of Aunt Jemima, Uncle Ben and the beautiful Indian princess from Land O Lake packaging because IT MIGHT OFFEND SOMEONE. Now here comes Target and Bud Light pushing their agenda..... well now I AM OFFENDED.
If there are certain words some find offensive that we cant say, there are also certain things that offend we should not see.
They don't want blacks and browns to see that they can make it in this world without their help. It reinforces the idea that white surpremacy holds them back.
These white/jewish saviors to the black community is a bit demeaning isn't it? If those first slaves ships of Irish women and children are ignored.... why? It was 6 months after the first Irish slaves came to the USA, the Jewish-African-American slave trade started. Look at who owned the ships, slave markets and what days the markets were closed before you call me any names the Leroy Trotsky made up.
Bring back Uncle Ben's Aunt Jemima's and the Indian Princess's images. They were so nice. I miss them.
I learned from my previous fortune 100 company that feelings only matter if you are not a white, straight male. So I changed race and gender to be black woman and they fired me before i got my paper work. Soon I'll make a hand-shake account and dump the whole story. Common class action lawsuits that show how these DEI policies make a hostile and discriminatory work environment.
Offensiveness shouldn't be the bar we measure things by. Offense is taken, not given. Instead morality, public decency, and the non aggression principle would make better guides I think.
True that. "Offense is taken, not given"... Great point.
Your thought process only works for approved people groups whom profess an anti culture world view when those groups are actively working to subvert or tear down the real and legitimate culture.
So if you are offended by their behaviors and words, then the response will be to gaslight you and label you evil since you are fighting back in support of the legitimate culture which is intended to be undermined and jettisoned.
In short, it's a double standard which equates to empowering one group and eviscerating and demoralizing another group. This is a war of ideas. Fairness and well reasoned logical discussions were lost on the battlefield long ago.
-- not saying we should not fight against this by speaking out, but we should be aware of what to expect in how our adversaries will counter our arguments and tactical advances in the realm of thought and ideas.
