Almost 90 Million American Adults Struggle to Make Ends Meet, Census Says
More Americans struggle to meet expenses now than in the immediate aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, when millions lost their means of employment, a Census Bureau survey showed.
According to one recent survey, approximately 38.5 percent of U.S. adults experienced “some form of difficulty in covering expenses between April 26 and May 8”…
A large swath of American consumers are facing financial hardship as they grapple with elevated living costs, record-high credit card use, and two years of negative real wage growth. This perfect storm could decimate financially fragile households in the next downturn.
As many as 89.1 million American adults (or about 38.5%) were found to experience some form of difficulty in covering expenses between April 26 and May 8, according to Bloomberg, citing new data from the Household Pulse Survey. This is up from 34.4% in 2022 and 26.7% during the same period in 2021.
THERE is ONE thing missing from this "report"...
HOW many of these "families" voted for the idiot-in-chief instead of voting for someone who would help them...BUT, I digress!!!!!!!
and the People want as much pain on the cabal as possible. do it Q!!!
No need to panic Frens, this always happens during the Greatest Economic Recovery of Our Lifetimes!
I'm glad I didn't struggle, as my real "needs" are simple, and my "wants" are fairly cheap.
I don't drive much, so I only have to fill up the car about once a month. We're in the magic time of year where we don't have the heat on any more, and it's not warm enough to turn on the air conditioning. Our last electric bill is the lowest we've had in 40 years. The bill we get in July will probably be higher.
Since I can only wear one pair of shoes at a time, one pair is all I have to wear. I do have a backup new pair stored away. I wear the same set of clothes for several years before they start wearing and need to be replaced. I keep them for yardwork.
I'm eating food I bought two years ago, so I'm that far ahead of inflation.
People need to decide on what they really need, such as cable or satellite, cell phones, eating out, going on vacations, etc. I eat out a little, but don't do any of the other things.
