Pence told Trump that Flynn lied to Pence about the situation, and this prompted Trump to fire Flynn. But it turns out that it was Pence who lied to Trump about what Flynn said.
Note: Trump, Pence and Flynn 'say' that Flynn lied to Pence and that Pence lied to Trump. If the three of them are working in tandem and on the same team, then its possible that this is the cover story.
I saw the initial announcements and interviews where Pence and Trump say that Flynn lied to Pence. I never saw anything that Flynn admitted that he lied to Pence, and in more recent times, he's made it clear that it was actually Pence who lied to Trump. I never saw Pence say that he said he himself lied to Trump.
I don't see any evidence of a cover story. As far as I'm concerned, when Pence made an absolutely disgusting speech on Jan 6 saying that "We the people" does not refer to every American citizen, but rather specifically to congress, and congress has all the power, and the people nothing, he became dead to me.
Sounds like you know more than me. I'll admit, I'm working with a limited understanding.
By 'cover story', I actually meant simply 'a story'. As in, DJT Pence and Flynn are possibly weaving a story, one that was necessary to set certain things in motion. The distinction here being between actual real events (which it is often impossible for us to know, as we only see what we are told) and narrative events (impacts that are generated in the population as to what we 'think' is happening, and how we respond.)
I appreciate your stance on Pence. I have not and do not follow him or that aspect of US politics that closely. However, based on the overall view of things, I guess I have my biases re: Pence, aka that his role is very much kayfabe and that he's the opposite of how many paint him: as a terrible treasonous back-stabbing deep state scum bucket. If he is NOT that scumbucket, and he's playing a <necessary> role, then he's got to be an absolute patriot, because one way or another, he's sacrificing his entire life and reputation.
This just smacks to me of Pence being a good guy. They fooled the Deep State by taking Flynn out immediately. Deep State installs their guys. Meanwhile Flynn is likely helping Q team get rid of the hidden bombs in various cities and do whatever was needed. Likely part of the 10 people that Q referred to…
Saying Pence is a good guy is a trigger point for some anons. Perhaps you should include a trigger warning.
I think it is interesting that there are too many on our side who still react emotionally against perceived traitors and villains, when we have real traitors and villains out there, and Q has told us time and time again that we're in a war of 5G which necessarily involves disinformation deception and trickery.
If it’s a short & sweet answer, what was the “lie” that Pence told?
Pence told Trump that Flynn lied to Pence about the situation, and this prompted Trump to fire Flynn. But it turns out that it was Pence who lied to Trump about what Flynn said.
Thank you for the explanation.

Do we know what actually happened?

I guess we stay tuned and see how it plays out.
