Maybe this CEO didn't want "50-year-old white guys" associated with the actual (non-traitorous) U.S. Military to know what Ocean Gate was really doing with these subs.
It's well known that Ghislane Maxwell was a sub pilot for the elite tyrants trying to rule the world. No way she was the only one. What was this Titan sub really for?
And did these people really get on it, or is this a way of faking the deaths of some of the elite? I know that stupidity has no bounds, but it's hard to believe that these five smart and successful people would get into this cheap toy and think they could go on a tour of a shipwreck two and a half miles below the surface of the ocean.
People like this are very self protective. They'll hurt others without a thought, but not themselves.
A possibility: Some of these richest-of-the-richest have seen and done most everthing, acquired everything they ever desired (and more) and traveled most everywhere. Many are risk-takers and some are outright thrill-seekers. Without constant and/or ever larger challenges, they become bored, "empty inside" and constantly seek SOMETHING that will - even if only momentarily - lessen or distract them from their boredom and emptiness, "make them feel alive"/excite them and earn them notoriety and the envy and adoration of others. An "exclusive adventure" like this submarine Titanic tour would fit the bill, perhaps even moreso BECAUSE it's risky and would, in a way allow them to meet and defy Death (the ultimate challenge).

None of this is adding up.

Their Hubris will be their undoing!
