That playoff run taught me that the NFL was fixed. The Steelers played Indianapolis a few weeks before Super Bowl XL. The refs did all they could to fix that game for Indy. They failed. I guess the refs felt bad and made sure PIT would win against Seattle in SB XL. That was the last season I followed NFL football.
This is all coming from a former Steelers fan too ... every single fucking fan that wasn't aligned with the Steelers were screaming about how bad the refs performed yet the yinzers were happy to get their "one for the thumb" by any means necessary. I tried talking some sense into people right after that game ... nobody would hear it. The Steelers pulled the same cheating shit in the 70s ... most of the team was roided up in an era when a lot of players werent on the juice. Disgusting. At a minimum, Dallas should be awarded two additional Super Bowls and Minnesota gets one. The only Super Bowl they won legit back then was against the Rams.
