I don't exactly agree with this tactic as shown in this picture, but the ultimate goal is to get a new contract from the other side, in this case the AMPTP.. Other than AI, the writers are fighting for better salaries as many of there are basically doing rewrites for almost free. The writers are like most of us, just wanting to put food on the table for their families. Note that the AMPTP does include Disney and other woke producers.
Greatly appreciate you sharing that point of view and agree that the tactics are not ideal. Causing other people to be late to their jobs is not a winning method.
I wouldn't object to labor unions if they behaved in a moral manner, but they seem incapable. They have a right to withhold their own labor, but they have no right to prevent other people from selling their labor or the business continuing to operate. But they always engage in what to me seems to be illegal acts, like sit-down strikes where they seize the means of production and deny it being used, or block the entrances to a work site, or violently assault the people willing to work. They're filthy communists and they should be put against a wall and shot.
Ah, has it been years since there has been an actual strike and many have forgotten the basics in how this all works? I am pretty sure every movie industry trade has a union, including actors. Union members never cross a union line. Is that line of cars all management? You can obviously disagree with unions, but a strike is their strongest bargaining chip and they don't have that if other unions become scabs.
The purpose of a union strike is to shut down the business so that it has to choose between conceding or losing money. Causing pain and hardship for other employees and businesses increases pressure on management to concede. It's a game of chicken, which management usually wins in the end, even if they appear to lose.
A very long line of cars were trying to access the studio. Some became impatient with these goofballs blocking the entrance so they honked their horns and yelled for them to get out out of the way. But they purposely walked back and forth with their Writer's Strike signs while the light was green for the cars to enter. They looked like a bunch of spoiled children throwing a tantrum.
Longer these liberals aren’t writing, the better we are. It may help some patriots break free of their Hollywood addiction.
Absolutely 💯 agree. They are so narcissistic it's irritating.

They should move off to the side. Others have employment contracts, and they need to work.
Yes, that is well said. Thank you for that point of view.

AI does better.
Proven to be truer everyday and in every way.

I'd say they are office personnel, staff, assistants, etc. all of whom need to be on the lot at their respective jobs.
Yes, agreed that a strike is their strongest bargaining chip. Think we were discussing the tactics employed. Thanks for sharing 👍
I was discussing tactics. Coal miners close gates to everyone and they are not friendly.

There’s no way these are actual writers either. Probably paid demonstrators.
I have to agree with you on that. More crisis actors hired to make it look like this protest and strike appear bigger than it truly is.
Antifa thugs for hire
