Correction: it was ALWAYS freedom v tyranny since the dawn of time. But here's where it gets complicated: EVERY ideology is capable of being a proponent of either. Meaning there are no good guys and bad guys. Simply people who choose to do good or bad and people can choose to change. It does not matter what anyone calls themselves. ACTIONS define who we are. Actions like people taking time out of their day and life to help you in an emergency. You'll find out in a crisis who your real friends are and who will come to your aid. Anyone who puts their religion or other ideology before helping you or others is not a good person. And yes I have experienced Republican Christian types do exactly that.
