Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I came to a realisation about these stories of Catholic abuse: there’s much more risk for kids in a state school, but if it were exposed, in France, for example, where education is the biggest employer, then they would immediately start a huge strike. There HAS to be such blackmail.
There is a website called “Behind The Pine Curtain” that exposes the systemic abuse at the Benedictine Abbey in MN and especially at St Johns Prep school. Peter Strzok is an alumni. Jeff Anderson, MN attorney has done incredible things working for survivors, in case you’re interested in looking at his work and blog. I’ll post some links in a second.
As a Catholic, I find it incredible that after all this, people haven’t walked away from the church but parishioners seem to have blinders on. The abuse is there, and in some case murders, suicides, missing people and countless victims and they just carry on unless it’s impacted them personally.
Here is a big rabbit hole. Be careful. Links in a second https://www.behindthepinecurtain.com/wordpress/welcome/

This is from yuckapedia sorry but I am not sufficiently caffeinated to post much right now and my dog is lookin at me.. Peter Strzok. I find there are so many strange coincidences with this @sshole..... “The family later moved to Upper Volta, where the elder Strzok took an assignment with Catholic Relief Services after retiring from military service.[25] One of Strzok's uncles is Father James Strzok, SJ, a Jesuit priest doing missionary work in east Africa.[26] The Strzok family is of Polish descent.
For high school, Strzok attended St. John's Preparatory School in Minnesota, graduating in 1987.[27] He earned a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University in 1991 as well as a master's degree in 2013.”
