Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
At the showing of Sound of Freedom near me, they had set up a table with resources on child exploitation and how to volunteer, support their efforts exc.. did the theater’s where you live do the same? Just curious
Nope not here. I wish they had!
We own a little store in the country, gas station, hardware, pizza shop, exc.. Every morning the old regular’s show up for coffee and tell the same stories for the hundredth time. I brought up The Sound of Freedom and used it to talk about child trafficking. The old guy’s said it’s happening in the county our store is in, here in Kentucky. I then said, “probably Free Mason’s” and that old man said to me, “How did you know that?”, I was floored, the evil is everywhere.
I bet you surprised those old men. A few weeks ago I was at a cookout with family and friends. I got to talking to one lady and she was aware of the trafficking. She said my local town is a hot bed. I wasn't surprised because the city government has let the gangs rule for two decades. It was starting to get bad in the 80s and now we don't go anywhere in town with out a gun. I try not to shop at Walmart especially alone. There's certain areas I'd never go in. So I could see trafficking is hot here. Trafficking probably makes more profit.
My house is in Louisville ky, we got the store because she was team driving a semi- truck with me and wanted a change, I wanted a bug-out location in the country “I didn’t tell her that”. I understand exactly what you are saying. Indianapolis is huge as is Cleveland, but in the country with locals that may be sitting next to you in church. It’s some real Steven King shit. My grandfather went to war with the KKK in the 50’s and 60’s because he stood with his black workers. I’m told a few never went home after messing with him. I wish some things were as they used to be.
