Jjust recently it came to light that the Government hospitals run by the ANC were sterilizing woman without their knowledge...Yet 'whitey' always the bad guy...People have no idea how brutal Africans can be to Other Africans....
Humans, taken individually, are generally good people. I know tons of great people, from various nations, religions, ethnicities, etc.
Taken as a whole or in large groups though, we're often pretty shitty to each other.
Whether SA apartheid, or the Japanese in Nanking, the Romans and their slaves, 3rd Reich and the jews, one religion vs another, segregation in America, BLM and white privilege, the list goes on and on.
All seem like rational ideas to the proponents, but looking back you can always see how they were a product of their time and place.
Am I suggesting moral relativism? Not at all. I frown upon taking away another human's freedom without just cause (and ideally WITH due process, but that's why I do the night job... ).To me, that's what really separates 'us' vs 'them'. We want people to be free to choose (not free from consequences). 'Them' (lol!) only want to give people choices that align with their worldview - but want everyone to be free of consequences, regardless of what those choices are. Totally Diametrically Opposed worldviews. I call it TDO. LOL
I think humanity is auto-sorting itself into two camps, driven by the above. To what end? I'll leave that up to the eschatologists.
