I've always been wary of the Andrew Jackson worship, and combining that with researching Alexander Hamilton more deeply, I think Matt Ehret's - LaRouche organization's view on the beginnings of American history is worth considering. Hamilton for all of the royalist accusations appeared to do so much as a patriot nationalist to get America on a solid post war footing.
Andrew Jackson I have yet to do a deep dive, but "National Bank Bad! Jackson Hero!" does seem like a weird hagiography that libertarians are reading through a specific late 20th century lens.
Anyway, give it a listen and post thoughts.
Hamilton as one of the four authors of the Federalists Papers has always made me reluctant to classify him as just another banker.
